    Plasmids.. whats your favorite?

Out of all the plasmids I've collected my favorite one has to be the Incinerator +3 just because theres nothing like watching splicers die in a super firey death.

    What's your favorite?.

I also wanna know why they have the insect swarm?. Even with +3 it seems like the most useless one out of all of them besides the security bullseye.

My favourite is telekinesis. It does massive damage when throwing corpses or explosives and it uses just a little eve.

    The decoy one.

Gives me just enough time to choose, with what weapon i should use to kill him.

The decoy one is a good one. I only used telekenisis when I needed the grenades to blow something up.

The sonic one I downloaded was pretty good too.

I would go with telekinesis, I love throwing random debris at them.

My favorite is Winter Blast +3. It freezes mostly everything in Rapture and gives you time to switch Ammo, Swich weapons, Reload, And use first-aid kits. And the entire time your enemy is frozen and can't do a thing until the ice melts.

Smoke them with Incinerate3, enhanced with the Human Inferno tonic. This is my favorite upgrade. If the foolish splicers jump in the water, shock them with Electrobolt.

I'm not sure about Insect Swarm. The only time I used it was in Apollo where you had no choice. It is a good distraction when you're running but that is about it.

Most definitely Incinerate! as, not only does it do damage over time and burn my enemies to a crisp, but it also helps me keep track of where my target is. Specifically, I'm remembering using it on the particularly resilient spider splicer that stalks you about the lower docks of Neptune's Bounty.

Other than Incinerate!, I also appreciated the Cyclone Trap. While somewhat difficult to use effectively in the heat of combat, I got quite a bit of satisfaction watching the splicers being swept up into the air and landing hard on their necks.

Of course, the practical uses of Electrobolt and Telekinesis cannot be overlooked either.

Actually I found insect swarm very useful in later levels with natural camouflage tonic. I don't waste adams for level 1 or 2 insect swarm, I just wait until there level 3 available for me to get. When you see something suspicious, like a slicer is sleeping, not dead, so with natural camouflage tonic, you release a swarm, then don't move, one or two swarms, sometime three will kill. It saves your bullets & health. If a enemy see you, then camouflage won't work and the swarm would less effective cuz when enemy running toward you, the swarm doesn't chase. The enemy has to stay still either sleeping, walking, or fighting against swarm without knowing you're around. But big daddy would be looking for you for a moment if he gets hit by a swarm then he would be trying to fight off the swarm. Several swarms can kill big daddy, just make sure he doesn't see you while you using camouflage tonic, you can keep releasing the swarm when he's far enough or you're in some positions where he can't see you. Even if your in vital chamber without opening the door, you can keep releasing swarms no matter how near he is and he can't do anything to you. This is how I get more fat cash. Try it in Apollo Square at Hestia Chambers area which I found it most fun level just killing big daddys & slicers using cyclone traps & swarms. Funny part is watching slicer step on cyclone trap then shoot up to several floors from bottom. I also placed position mines & trap bolts on stairs from a floor to two then wait for next big daddy to show up while I'm camouflaged. Swarm is one of my favorite, cyclone trap is fun too, both work well with camouflage tonic. I use dummy most of time for taking pictures, fighting, & exploring. Oh have you tried using security bullseye on big daddy? Its fun and one of sure way to get rich easy.

Has anyone ever killed a splicer just with Insect Swarm? In Silverwing Apiary the splicers never die even when the smoke is off -- they shout "Ow! Ow!" but you still have to finish them off yourself before going back in.

I think the splicers in that level is coded with hive's swarms. level 1 swarm is more difficult to kill a splicer, so get level 3 instead, you'll see.

On my recent run through (at Fort Frolic, currently), I have discovered the amazing use of telekinesis. For example, mowing over a splicer with a burnt corpse of a Big Daddy has got to be one of the funniest things I have done so far in game...other than beating some poor sap to death with a dead cat.

I did in Apollo Square with insect swarm 3. I hit him with it first, he ran toward me so it threw more bees (they are bees, right?) at him. He stopped to fight off the bees and that was that. Couple of seconds later I was taking his money.

Yea I've done the exact same thing. funny if you ask me. i had Insect Swarm 3 (this was on Hard.) I only used one of them it was on a thuggish splicer, and that guy just fell to the ground in 10 seconds. i watched in awe as his health just divebombed.

oops forgot to say: my favorite plasmid is Sonic Boom 2. I get a huge laugh every time i use it once i used it one a splicer that I set on fire, then i sonic boomed her, and another guy runs around the corner and she smacks him and he gets clotheslined. lol

    Wink

I enjoyed using telekenesis alot, it's one of the best plasmids, i believe. It was fun walkin' around the medical pavilion and playing Big Daddy bowling with oxygen tanks and wheelchairs, that was funny!, i also liked cyclone trap, also ... like someone else said, it's one of the funniest things ever to see a splicer shoot straight up in the air.

I just used electro-bolt to zap open locked doors, primarily.

alot of good plasmids, out there!.

although it's not the coolest looking, i have to say that telekinesis would probably b the most useful in real life- not to mention it's one of the only ones that doesn't screw up ur skin...

Telekenises definitely makes fighting the Rosies easier. Fire their own rivets back at them. "There! HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?!"

Telekinesis, nothing like using a corpse as a bullet shield then hurling it at 50mph.

I favor the freezy plasmid because when u use it on bots, cameras, and turrets it slows the hack flow unlike electrobolt. its my first plasmid slot always.

And u guyz is just haters on insect swarm! i love it! i used it on fontaine himself at the end of the game and i tell u what....he don't like it very much.

My favorite would have to be Tele as well. Hey Creehaa try shooting prox mines on an explosive tank (number of mines depends of difficulty) and tele throw it at a BD. See if that hurts him a bit

My favourites probably enrage. So enjoyable watching splicers fight it out with a big daddy and it can also get you out of some tight spots. Sonic boom is also great to use. I like all the plasmids really, though i haven't used much cyclone trap. I figure that sonic boom does the "blowin' 'em 30 feet through the air job" pretty well.

Thing is, I didn't need any plasmids for Fontaine. I just unloaded my grenade launcher into him - 3 rounds for each of his forms and he goes down quick (use Heat-Seekers for one, since you only have 6 grenades).

Insect swarm!!! dont know why people dont find it effective, I find insect swarm 2 quite efficient let alone 3, guess people just have different standards for different plasmids.

Very true...also a full tank of Electric Gel will take him down (and keep him from moving) 1 of the 3 times, allowing you to conserve your grenades for either the first or last two encounters.

I have personally grown to love the Security Plasmid. I never really used it until I was leaving Point Prometheus for the Proving Grounds. I saw a Big Daddy on my way out and tagged him with it (since it doesnt count as an attack) while he passed a camera and watched a never ending flood of security bots rain bullets on him. It didnt take them very long to finish him off either, and it uses very little EVE.

I need to use that. I played the entire game without even equipping it...

But then there's so much to choose from that one could play through using a different plasmid/tonic set every time!

I love insect swarm. You can just let them fly around, dazing your enemies, finding enemies, and leaving them open for several heavy attacks. And with plus 3 it stays on the corpse so anything walking by it gets hit with bees and then it's on their corpse as well, wherever they run. Also, it requires no accuracy, all you have to do is let them loose and they find the target for you.

  39. #39
Im surprised more people havent said hypnotize. It's just so amusing to see your enemies go at it with 1 another, very useful. But love Insect Swarm as well.

Incinerate at any level is the most frequent one I use. It is simple and does damage and often sets off secondary effects.
