    Unhappy Life size little sister

Hello everybody, I am Mark and I am from the Netherlands. This is my first time on a forum and I am hoping that somebody could help me...In the Netherlands there has been a contest and the price was winning a life size Bioshock little sister statue. I didn't win the contest but I really want to have one for my own, could somebody tell me where to find one? (anywhere in the world) I know that there is an opportunity tobuy a little one in the online store but I am looking for a big one. Please help.. Greetings Mark.

First of all, I don't think they're even selling those new life-size Little Sister statues, better yet giving them away in a contest (unless this is something I don't know about).
What there is available, though, is a Little Sister figurine. If that's what you're talking about, then you can easily get your hands on one through the Take 2 Store as well as other cool items.

Hello, Mark. Welcome to the 2K Forum.

I understand your request. Unfortunately, as Mari pointed out, those life-size figures are not for sale. They are given away for promotional purposes (or in contests). It was the same situation with the life-size Big Daddy statue.

We have a rule here that prohibits advertising items for sale, so unfortunately you won't find anyone here offering a life-size statue for sale.

My only advice would be to watch Ebay for any auctions and to frequent forums that specifically discuss statues. You may find a collector on there who has one for sale.

Good luck. Perhaps there will be more opportunities for collectible items when BioShock 2 is released later this year.

Good question, but only a 2K employee will be able to answer. They may not have any more printed, or maybe they want to improve the storefront since some people had customer service issues (ordering items that were sold out, etc). Before long, though, I think we'll start seeing an emphasis on the second game and merchandise that represents it.

The nice thing to remember is that it can only go up from here. With a movie in the works, you know more merchandise will come out.

What's stupid (so to speak), is that there is a huge interest in BioShock merchandise. People want to buy t-shirts with logos, pens, figurines, etc. All it takes is to place one order and some good people in China can make thousands of those items. I would LOVE a "Dr. Steinman's Aesthetic Ideals" shirt (black with the logo on the front), along with another, simple "BioShock" logo shirt. This merchandise has great potential (after all, it's a great, highly rated game), it's a wonder 2K doesn't want to use it.

And yes, I agree that with a movie in the works there will be probably more merch, but I would still love to get items from BioShock "1".

    How do you define "huge"?

A few dozen very active forum members clamboring for items is one thing, but is there a market for thousands of items? I honestly can't say. Remember, too, that a lot of talk is just that....talk. People can post every day about how they want to buy something but when it gets offered you start seeing, "I'm broke right now. It's not the right color. I don't have the space." etc. etc. You know the drill.

It pays to remember that 2K is a video game company. They aren't set up to produce, store, and ship physical merchandise. It's one thing to say that thousands of shirts might sell. It's quite another to find a place to store those shirts when they don't sell.

So far, I can't really fault 2K. They have produced quite a variety of items for BioShock (pens, shirts, faceplates, posters, lithos, statues, etc). How many games can say that? What's more, they've given a ton of the aforementioned items away. Then created that storefront to get even more items into the hands of fans. If they don't want to create a new arm of the company to handle physical merchandise, I can understand that. It's not a logical extension to their primary mission: the production of software.

I just hope that the movie designs are faithful enough to the game that resulting merchandise will please fans of the software (in case the film is a stinker, LOL).

    hey there,

i know about the demand for BioShock merchandise, and there will be some coming in the future. stay tuned!

as for the life-sized little sister, we made those, and there are very few in existence. you can't buy them from any channels, and we won't be mass-producing these guys.

    sorry!

True dat. There is, in reality, very very little demand for this kinda thing.

Us on the forum, maybe a few collectors, hardcore videogames fans in general.

Not enough to justify more than what we have now.

Yeah, that's true. If there was indeed a very huge demand for BioShock merchandise, then I think there'd be a LOT of merchandise for sale or even given out. More than the usual, that is.

Saw one of these in a local store in Northern California last week...they are beautiful. Two pieces, the Little Sister and the stand/tile from Rapture...I nearly ran out with them both!!

Details are they're produced by Studio Oxmox and Mucklefiguren...the same folks who do MOST of the prototype and promotional statues used during vendor shows etc.

    Little Sister Life-Sized Statue / 2

What I didn't know is they're slightly articulated. Apparently you can position, at the very least, LS' Right arm to be concealing the Adam Extractor, or holding forward...ready to pierce a victim. Wonderful detail...do want! I have to say, considering the going rate of Mucklefigguren's open catalogue of life-sized statues (Heath Ledger Joker goes for 1k), I'd totally buy one. Man...tis a shame they're not available to the rabid fans eh?
