Bioshock on Spike TV this Sunday

    Hey -

Was just watching Spike TV and didn't see a thread for this already. If there already is one, oops.

This Sunday during the Spike TV original series "The Kill Point" there's going to be a "first look" at Bioshock and an "exclusive announcement" by one of the game's creators (the announcer says the voice really quickly, didn't hear who).

Anyone else smell demo announcement? Alright, maybe not, but it'll be cool to see Bx on TV. Check your local listings!

That's something to look forward to this sunday, thanks for the info

DEMO! DEMO! Maybe we can make some magical spell if we all say demo at the same time, and then the people making the announcement will be forced by our huge orgy of "DEMO" shoutings, to say it's confirmed. Definitely NOT wishful thinking. But it could happen (them saying there's a demo), eh?

  7. #7
It seems very likely that the announcement would state something about the demo, what else could they possibly announce?

I'm looking forward to see this on Game Trailers because my cable is down and the only thing working in my house is the Internet. I need some TV in my life.

I'm quite the opposite... I have cable and everything, but I never watch it, I do watch TV Guide to get to sleep sometimes though. But now I'll be watching TV for BioShock.

That's impossible. It's gone gold. The release date better not be pushed up. I'd have to wait even longer to play it afer the release date. I won't get to pay BioShock until the28th, but if the date gets pushed up, then I have to restrain from using the forums for even longer. Damn......I doubt it'll happen, though.

Well, I retain my hope that it's a "zomg, look at our awesome game. love action? download the demo on xbl this wednesday, and look for it in stores aug 21st! bx ftw!"

but, of course, in real words.

  18. #18
i just checked TV guide. there is a new episode of the kill point at 9pm and 10pm so I'm guessing it will be in between the episodes.

  19. #19
Awesome. I'll probably TiVo it (even though I have a Dish DVR >.<). I think demo is the only reasonable "announcement", but it may be something we already know.

I can't wait. I'm gonna watch the Killpoint and I don't even like the show.

Setting my tivo for Spike right now! Also, anyone else have Optimum cable? they have a bunch of HD channels on the VOOM network,... and one has HD Gaming videos all the time.. they play thru games completely.. they had the Starcraft 2 announcement.. and other wacky stuff...

How about some Bioshock love for the Voom channel?

  22. #22
I cant wait for this news!! A demo before we actually buy the game would be cool...

Are you kidding? MXC and CSI re-runs..thats just pure gold

But in all honesty, the killpoint has been grasping my attention, so the new trailer and special announcement on bioshock this sunday at midnight ET *commercial* is just the gravy to my mashed potatoes...and the homeade kind not KFC.

  26. #26
    It's actually at 9pm ET.

Sorry to bring this up but rumors are flying that the announcement is that it is coming to the ps3. Personally I would like it to stay on the 360 and PC though.

It seems more likely that they'll announce a PS3 version rather than a demo.

Nope, that won't make sense. Imagine you release a game for two platforms and close before the chance of selling many many units of a game, you announce it for a third platform? That won't lift your sales, since some people might say "Hey, I wait for PS3 version then".

I guess it's a demo or even Bioshock 2? I know it sounds stupid to announce a sequel before part 1 has been released but as far as I remember, EA did the same with Army of Two.

I'm pretty sure this announcement will cover something that we don't know about the CE. I think Ken said somewhere that there are things we don't know about in that package.

    Bioshock: "surprise announcement" this Sunday
Friday 10-Aug-2007 11:27 AM New trailer and "surprise announcement" on US telly this weekend - will the PS3 version finally be confirmed?
25 CommentsThere's only two weeks until its 360 / PC release but apparently we don't quite know everything there is to know about Bioshock.

According to our mates at Kotaku, Irrational Games is set to make a surprise Bioshock announcement on US telly this weekend, alongside a brand new trailer. "You won't want to miss this!," US tv show Game head promises.

OO-eer, what could it be? Confirmation of the PlayStation 3 version? Download Content details? 'Capture the little sister' deathmatch?

We can't see them announcing the PS3 version before the 360 one's out the door, but we'll let you know exactly how surprising the news is after the weekend.

The possiblities as I see them, in order of most likeliness:

    1. PS3 Bioshock version announced

    2. Bioshock demo announced

    3. Top secret multiplayer revealed

    4. Bioshock's release date moved forward or back

    5. Bioshock 2 announced

    6. Ken Levine is from Atlantis, and he is inviting us all back with him.
