Bioshock crashes during loading
Hi everyone. I have a problem with the retail version of Bioshock that's been crashing the program while it loads (after I click "new game" and easy/medium/hard). It gives me the usual "Bioshock.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close..." window. I've tried disabling background programs, downloading new drivers, reinstalling, other settings/resolutions, and removing my old saves. Starting in windowed mode doesn't work either.
I did get it to work *once* with 800x600 resolution and low settings, but I couldn't reproduce it again, and when I entered the pause menu during the game it crashed back to the desktop with the same "Bioshock.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close..." window.
Heres my system specs:
HP Pavilion a1250n
Windows XP Media Edition w/ SP2
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ / 2 GHz
1 gig DDR RAM
PNY GeForce 9600GT 512mb
1280x1028 resolution
Thanks

Memory: 6144MB RAM
Page File: 894MB used, 6908MB available
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT

Can't seem to play the game for more than 2 minutes without it encountering an error and needing to close.

I think it has something to do with the High Detail Shaders. With them disabled, I can play the first level up until you break the surface of the water (coming up from the plane crash) then it crashes again. I'll try it again with lower settings.

Yeah I can get about the same distance every time in the first level and then it crashes...

I got it working today. I added another gig of RAM and it works like a charm now.
