    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=140278429704

I know it's only the "buy it now price" but...

    $450 for a f***ing T-shirt?!

    really?

who would pay such a price?

What in the hell is this guy thinking?! Haha. He's nuts! You can make one for $30 at the most! Lol. I wonder who'll buy it. Must be someone that got one from the Cult or Rapture. That shirt was one of the finalists in the last T-shirt contest. Good luck to him. Lol.

well, i'm glad people value BioShock goodies that much. i wish he'd liked it enough to keep it for himself!

also, just in case anyone gets confused, that's not concept art. that shirt was a runner-up in our Threadless tee shirt competition. the shirt was not actually the winner, but was so loved Threadless decided to print it later as part of their regular shirt program. and because i also loved it, we bought some up! and, if you go to Threadless.com and search for Dead Sucker, you can vote to get it reprinted.

I wonder if the seller actually meant $45. I've see that happen before. (But even $45 is a bit high.)

I've got that shirt. That was back when shirts and pens were up for grabs--all you had to do was ask for them! No contest involved. That was the first time I'd seen a game forum give away really cool swag without limiting the number of "winners".

(Before anyone asks--the shirts and pens were all given away. There are none left. Sorry.)

That is not an astronomical figure, in all honestly. Original Bioshock merchandise is like golddust, I would know. I've spent upwards of $700 on the stuff.

Haha. Innocent BioShock addicts, that sounds funny. That's messed up though, poor guy that buys it for that price. He could've just came here and MAYBE win a free one, or something.

That shirt.. It's one that I personally wouldn't wear. There is something about it. I could imagine myself in public and people staring at me wearing that shirt. AND $450? Lol no..

I've worn it in public a lot. I got 2 slightly negative reactions (both were over 50 and not gamers) and a ton of positive reactions. The nice thing about the shirt is that the design is cool and edgy all by itself, even to those who know nothing about BioShock. The handful of people who recognized it as BioShock really flipped out when they saw it.

But every community is different. I've lived some places where I wouldn't be as comfortable wearing it.

Well, if that guy's serious about wanting $450 for it, then I would expect the shirt to be in mint condition. Never been worn, washed, touched much, gotten dirty or dusty at all. He should put it in a glass frame or something. Then MAYBE it'd be worth $250 tops, MAYBE.

over here in australia that costs upwards of one thousand dollers or maybe nine hundred

but seriously i would buy that (if it was about 850 dollers cheaper)

in other words the cost of it is... is!... Geese it is too hard to say on a forum where no swearing is allowed due to younger viewers.

Hi Elizabeth, where is that stuff usually posted? I'm still pretty new to the forums, and just recently became I huge fan. (had to wait for the ps3 version) now I can't get enough of this game, I would love to have some merchandise for it.

Try to check the main page (www.cultofrapture.com) and this forum (primarily the BioShock General Game Discussion area) on a regular basis. You usually have several days--if not weeks--to enter a contest. It's not like you need to check every few hours.

As for these goofy auctions, you have to keep in mind that an open auction means nothing. I can wad up a piece of paper and put it on Ebay with a Buy It Now price of $10,000. Doesn't mean anything. All that matters are closed auctions with successful sales. I haven't looked at the closed BioShock auctions recently, but I'd be surprised if any of these high-priced auctions get any bids.

"The whole nine yards", it's not even close. I've emailed that guy before about his prices, it used to be a lot higher.

BD statue sold for 4800 the life size one that is.

True closed auctions are the ones that matter but I get the feeling people have such a high buy it now bid just to 'showcase' something and don't exspect anyone to really buy it.

people that ask for a rediculous price and keep reposting the auction at that price usually just want to 'showcase' their item rather than sell it.

They wait for people to PM them and complain or make a private offer just to get attention its not actually all that uncommon.

  28. #28
True, but the scary part is that people would probably still buy it (no matter what price it is). Even if it was up for 2,000+ dollars, I'm sure eventually someone would still buy it. Some people have more money than brains.

Since a T-Shirt doesn't really take all that much space, the person can easily hold it at that price for a long time until finding a rich boy/girl willing to spend the money. It's actually a pretty good idea (although a little mean).

I remember seeing this last week while looking around to see what stuff was avaliabe. Was like cool theres the Dead Sucker t-shirt.. then saw the $450 part Thing is i really think there will be people who would pay that for it, especially since its relatively difficult to get ahold of any Bioshock stuff unless you win a contest. I love anything Bioshock but dont think id pay $450 for a t-shirt even so

You can go to the website http://www.threadless.com/product/911/Dead_Sucker and request a reprint. I hope there are enough people who do it so we can all get one.

If I had that shirt it would have been well worn out by now. Alas I joined after they gave them all away.

Just think in a few months it will be worth $900!!
