Anyone know how I need to compile the files? I downloaded Marathon from Bungie's free download page, and got AlephOne and SDL all in the scenario folder. But now what? The readme for installing it has a 'see this' and under what it told me to see it basically says Note to self: finish section. Meaning, I have no idea what to do with the files to play them. Any help as far as far as setting this up?
EDIT: I just found out that all of the files are compiled correctly, but it doesn't play. Actually, besides clicking on the AlephOne.exe thing I don't know of any way that is supposed to make the program start.
I redownloaded it, but this time it has all the files together and has the redone textures in it. It still won't play... any ideas?
Im have no Idea, but did you try right clicking on files and trying to open them with AlephOne? I've never used it, so thats basically a shot in the dark.
I did this a long time ago:
1. Download the version you want (1,2, or Infinity)
2. Download AlephOne for your OS
3. Put AlephOne.exe in the folder with the game
4. Play!
I didn't know it had mouse support the first time! >.<
Now I may play it.

Put the complete file in the AlephOne folder
Use the AlephOne shortcut.
If this doesn't work, consider changing the compatibilty of AlpehOne shortcut as it was designed for Win98.
By complete I mean all the sounds, textures...etc in one file, like it is on their site.
Ok, I just tried it and it doesn't work. But I'm pretty good at solving problems, so I'll get back to ya.
Ok try putting THIS in the AlephOne folder (extract it first obviously) and try that. If it doesn't seem to work check your task manager because your previous attempts at running the .exe may still be going and preventing your new attempt from initialising.
wait... I put it Marathon2 (I was doin 1 before, but I'll just roll over and try 2) in the alephone folder?
Ok, what part of the folder? does it have to be in the alephone folder in the alephone folder
also, what is up with the SDL thing? is that already in the download o.O

Anywho, just download the thing I linked to, extract it and put it in the AlephOne folder where the shortcut is.
I fixed it, I just put the scenario and AlephOne in the AlephOne.exe
