Should I buy Post Mortem
Should I buy Post Mortem?

I've downloaded the demo but I can't get it working.
I've watched the gameplay videos but I still can't seem to make up my mind.
Has anyone played it? Can anyone recommend it?

I have played it, but I'm not going to be particularly useful here because I can't honestly remember much about it, which may itself say a lot. I was actually waiting to see if anyone else would post.
I played it during a mini adventure gaming spree a few years ago when I played it along with a couple of the Broken Sword games and The Longest Journey. The "just another formulaic adventure" comment from that review is probably an apt description of the game.

Thanks SF— I generally err on the side of Caution and play more or less any 'ambiguous' adventure title (i.e. not generic Dreamcatcher, Adventure Company title), even if all it's got going for it is a lot of potential, but I've just not been swayed by Post Mortem. If it wasn't for the fact that the design allows you to totally screw up the game's continuity (by visiting the various locations in any order you like, even when it means you can experience interactions and ask questions about stuff you've not even seen yet) I probably would buy it.
It's Microids, but it's not Benoît Sokal (and the original Syberia is the only game of his that I've really liked that much). Having said that they did make Still Life which and I'll probably be checking out, since the demo was pretty cool (for a third-person adventure).

Post Mortem didn't strike me as having much character, at least not when sandwiched between Broken Sword and The Longest Journey.
I loved the first Syberia game and I meant to check out Still Life but it kind of dropped off my radar. Actually I've not played any adventures of this type for a while.
