I didn't Know August was 4th Quarter I always thought it was third, since, January, Febuary, and March are 1st Quarter, April, May, and June, is 2nd Quarter, July, August, and September is 3rd Quarter, October, November, and December is 4th Quarter, but that is what the that Website says, but it might be in relation to Take-Two's fiscal year, which ends on October 31st, and it is kind've bad news about GTA IV but it will be good since I don't want it to be bad like San Andreas but that is IMO that San Andreas was bad I liked GTA III, and Vice City more.

    Damn

Might be for the best though, we're already getting swamped with titles from September till the end of the year and I seriously doubt GTA needs the holiday rush to sell well.

No, I'm fairly sure they're not. I can handle that delay though, no problem. I'll probably be able to afford it more then.

Yes but it is actually the other way around 2K is apart of Take-Two, and from alot of reports 2K is Take-Two's most profitable.

Damn! I've actually started playing GTA SA again from the beginning because I never finished it the first time, maybe it'll be out by the time I'm done.

On that website it says theres starts at a different time, it says it ends on October 31st, so the next fiscal year must start the next day, because if it didn't wouldn't it be shorter then a year.

I know this is sorta off topic, but why does Take Two have so many sub publisher things?

    These are my observations

Joytech: makes periferials, similar to Logitech

Global Star: aimed twards younger children

Rockstar Games: publishes video games, seems to suport other media also

2K Games: publishes video games, "high profile license"

2K Sports: division of 2K Games, sports expertise

I think that is all of them. But what is the difference between Rockstar and 2K Games? Kinda dumb I know, but I couldn't find a mission statement type thing for Rockstar like the other ones had. I deffinatley don't know a lot about how big buisnesses work, but could someone explain why they like to branch out like that, as opposed to all under one name?

Well I can't say for certain but it's probably for similar reasons that movie studios have so many separate brands even while being in the same company.

Rockstar attracts alot of flak, endless flak and that's ok because Rockstar thrives on controversy generated by their content, however that same reputation could seriously damage the ability to sell certain games.

Disney owns a company (I can't remember it's name) that puts out all R rated fair, most people see a different name and they never once consider a Mickey Mouse connection and that's the whole point. The best way to market to multiple groups is to wear a different face for all of them.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up. After I posted that I went around looking at different publishers, just to see how much bigger or smaller Take Two is in comparison.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ame_publishers

What is up with THQ's sight? It's all video games!!! I didn't even know they made video games! I thought there were in the movie buisness...

(I should probably just make my own thread instead of leeching off this one)

Well, I can't say I'm too surprised, seeing as how all the 3D GTA's have been delayed (GTA3 was ostensibly delayed due to 9/11, but I expect they used the extra time for other things as well). Heretofore, though, the delays have been weeks, not quarters. I also found out today that Two Worlds has been pushed back a week, so instead of playing it in the week prior to Bioshock, I'll be picking it up the same night (and presumably booting it up for the first time a week or so later -- Bioshock gets first dibs!).

That's OK, though. My Xbox isn't hooked up to the Internet, so it can't download patches. (I'm not aware of any 360 patches that can be burned to CD, aside from the backward-compatibility updates.) So all in all, I'd rather they take their time and get the game to console quality, instead of releasing a collection of gamekilling bugs (*cough*Oblivion*cough*).

I agree with you. GTASA Was a total letdown in my opinion. It will give me more time to enjoy games like BioShock and Stuntman and maby Blue Dragon

I don't think Stuntman's much of a good game either. Now THAT was a letdown, to me, anyway.
I don't mind the delay, now I guess, I can actually get the Orange Box.

the first GTA that was innovative was GTA III and then Vice was great, the best in the series by far, then by the time San Andreas came out it felt like "been there done that" which i didn't play for long because of that.

I'm just sick of all the "crime" open-world games; Godfather, Scarface, GTA, etc. At least Crackdown did something different with you as a Secret Agent, rather than a criminal. Sigh. I like the GTA games, it's just that, can't I be something OTHER than a criminal? I can understand that being a criminal technically gives you more freedom to do these things, but I still need a little more variety than that.

I am afraid of GTA IV not fitting onto a DVD9...but afaik most of current games only need half of its capacity.

    LOL WUT? (10 char.)

Is Assassin's Creed confirmed for November? My god that game looks unreal.

Turok looks good, but I was a little weirded-out by some of the photo-realistic "breaking dinos over your knees" stuff -- I guess I just have a thing for animals, and those are definitely life like dino models. Yes, they are extinct, but it still made me grimace.

Also, you forgot the Company of Heroes expansion, which is on my list of must play titles this fall.

And what of MoH Airborne? Jury still out on that one?

    And Call of Duty 4?

Yeah, same here. I loved the normal passenger airplane. Those things were such a blast, but now there's only Choppers. Shame on Rockstar.
