    Registered voters of 2k forum...

Don't forget to vote today. Just a friendly reminder. If you don't vote, you're not using the only way we as citizens have to make a difference in our government.

Please don't get into politics in this thread, it's just a friendly reminder that today is election day.

As a side note: If you are stuck at the bottom of the ocean in a decaying city this election day, there is no need to file an absentee ballot. Simply go to your nearest Gene Bank, hack it, and enter your vote there!

    Lol. That works too.

I've been registered to vote since I turned 18, but I haven't voted since. I don't think we're forced to do so anyway. I just don't feel like it makes much of a difference. I've heard that the Government doesn't even use the votes, that they know who's going to win already. Dunno though. I am pretty excited to see who's going to win though. I wonder if they're going to announce it tonight. I remember when Bush and Al Gore (I think) were running, they had to wait longer than ever because they were in a tie or something with the votes, not sure.

Your post makes me very sad, Mari.

While it's far from perfect, I encourage you to learn at least a little about our election system before you dismiss it entirely.

it is true that the popular vote doesn't pick the president, however the electoral vote does. The electoral vote is cast by the state representatives, and they're vote is supposed to be a representation of the state (in theory, they're picking whomever would be in the best interest of the state.)

The above fact is why I believe it's more important to vote for your representatives than it is the presidental election. Sure your reps may change their views due to high public outcry, but most of the time a D rep votes D and a R rep votes R.

I'm so sorry to sadden you, I'm just not a big fan of politics/elections. I don't know anything about the candidates so I wouldn't even know who to vote for. I don't know anything about the props either. That's why I didn't/don't vote. I wouldn't mind learning more about it, though.

It's pretty ignorant (no disrespect) not to know about who might be running your country. You should learn about who is representing us as a nation and then make an informed decision.

its cast by state electors, not the rep.s.

i do not like the electoral system, it seems like it is the government's way of making us think that we're the kings of the play-pin, but they still open and close the gates.

btw congrats to obama, he just won it.

Now that the race is done, we'll close this thread now. It was nice of 2K to allow us the chance to bend the rules to encourage everyone to vote. But now that the results are in, I think it's best that we close the thread before we go way over the line. There are plenty of more appropriate sites where folks can celebrate their victory or mourn their loss.

Now, let's talk about video games.....
