    BioShock = Dead Space

    (Don't know if it was necessary to create a thread, but what the heck) Seriously, the likeness between BioShock and Dead Space is significant. There is even a whole level in DS that is exactly the same in BS. Here is some comparisons.

    - They are both set in a place far from civilization, Rapture in the bottom of the sea and USG Ishimura in deep space.

    - The level Arcadia (BS) and Environmental Hazard (DS) is almost exactly the same. They are both set in the most green section in the respective city's and ship's. And guess what's your mission in both game?In BS, you must prevent Ryan from removing the oxygen. In DS, you must stop Challus Mercer from removing the oxygen, wait, is that a coincident?

    - In BS, you find audio logs. In DS you find various logs, including audio logs (i know that audio logs are in Doom 3 as well).

    - Telekenisis, you can upgrade your weapons.

    - There are scares that are very similar.

    - And then there is the big twist, there are almost not a difference. The player is betrayed by the one who was helping the player. And this betrayal happened when the former villain in the game died.

    There are several other similarities, but I'm too lazy to bring up all. The only real difference in both games are the enemies and that BS is heavy on the action and philosophical aspect and DS is more horror and political. Even if the creators never stated it, Dead Space is definitely inspired by BioShock. To you who have played the game, have you seen the similarities?

    Dead Space is a great game, so if you like BioShock you should definitely get Dead Space.

    by your account it sounds a lot like Dead Space is an EA rip-off of Bioshock.

    Dead Space may sound like a rip-off of BioShock, but it is an excellent game. They are incredibly similar. One I notice is:

    -The Medical Pavillion (BS) and Medical Bay (DS) are both the second level for both games and require the same sort of objective with BioShocks getting the key off Steinman to exit Medical Pavillion while Dead Space's is to obtain a key or data of the captain of the USG Ishimura's RIG (suits everybody wears) to gain access to the Bridge of the ship.

    But Dead Space is a fantastic game. I suggest it to all BioShock lovers.

    That really helps my decision and hopes for the game! Thanks! OwO;;

    Speaking of Dead Space, today at Target, I picked-up a copy of Dead Space: Downfall.. It's a cartoon movie prequel to the game. ::nod nod:: Not sure if I wanna watch the movie or play the game first which I'm getting tomorrow... But then again I have poor resistance to such goodness.. XDD;;

    preaching to the choir.

    it's basically bioshock + 3rd person + space.

    BUT THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT A BAD GAME. actually, a pretty rad one.

    MUCH MORE SCARY/ GOOD LORD. one of the scariest games i've ever seen.

    im picking it up soon. mirror's edge first.

    No, Fallout 3 is overrated. It's basically a mod of Oblivion, in my opinion, Dead Space is far better.

    How's the voice acting compared to Bioshocks?

    Is the story as good in Dead space?

    1. It's at least as good as in BioShock. Every voice sounds unique as in BS.

    2. It depends on how you look at the story. BioShock has more emphasis on philosophy, and Dead Space has more emphasis on politic. But if you mean all the plot twists, then Dead Space is better. BioShock have one plot twist (Fontaine), but Dead Space have two major plot twists that is very surprising (actually there is three, but not every one sees the last as one). In my opinion, BS have slightly better story (mostly because of the Rand nods), but Dead Space is just a half step behind.

    Yup, I was hoping for a game like Oblivion, not Oblivion in the future. But I will continue to play it to give it a fair chance (I have played 8 hours, i'm not through with the main quest yet). But right now, I like Dead Space much more.

    That is what I was thinking, if someone could "mod" oblivion and have a Fallout 3 be the result that would be be one amazing mod.

    Hmmm I am going to go do a quick Mod on Halo and make Bioshock 2.

    Fallout 3 is only fun until you leave the vault.

    Anyways, Dead Space seems pretty cool. I've heard that the game is very similar to capcom's Resident Evil, which adds to it since those games are awesome.

    Definitely gotta try this one

    A Fallout fan, I presume. First, don't take the mod bit literally. Secondly, I'm not saying that Fallout 3 is bad, just that it isn't what certain reviewers make it to be, GOTY or something like that. It's to much time in the sewers and tunnels, the graphics are not that good and the animation sucks. But it's a good game.

    It's not like Resident Evil at all, the gameplay resembles it, but nothing more. BioShock is warmer to Dead Space.

    I would review it but I've never reviewed anything. I'll try write something up later maybe. But watch the IGN review of it, they sum the game up pretty well.

    o, then i'll watch that, but i didn't mean like a whole review, lol, i just meant like how many stars out of 5, and some good and bad features about the game.
