Merchantman refuses to go to Europe

Ive been having an easy time getting to the Europe squares of the ocean and heading off to Europe through out the game, but just recently, and Im about 100 years into the game, my Merchantman is refusing to go to Europe, it just floats back n forth in the Europe squares and does nothing.

Has anyone else experienced this problem yet? How do I make it so my Merchantman goes back to Europe?

Ok, I got it going to europe by clicking the "Sail to Europe" button

The first time you were in the open water (crosshatched area) you probably said the choice that's something like "no, don't ask me anymore" (the third choice).. leaving the button as the only way to do it... obviously you found it, but just my thoughts..
