If you were stuck in Rapture after all hell broke loose, what would you do? Some examples: Try to break free, go crazy, make the best of the situation, or try going about your life as normal as you can given the circumstances.

i wouldnt be, a city underwater does not sound like a good idea at all. What if you were a Rapture Resident?
if i was though, id probably side with fontaine and get myself smuggled out, take a lot of sport tonics and become a proffesional athlete once i got above ground.
I would find me a hidey-hole and get me as many cameras, turrets, and sentry bots as I could find to guard the place. Also I think I would be the first person to hack a gatherer's garden and get me some cheap plasmids and tonics.
id hot wire one of those lil submarines get it off the track and get the **** out of there lol
I would stay in my apartment, stock up on plasmids and weapons. Turn up Somewhere Beyond the Sea, and wait.

I would find some diving gear, crack the windows open, swim like a fishy to surface![]()
The fact that Rapture is underwater is that much cooler. Underground... I dunno. I would most likely side with Andrew Ryan than Atlas.
Hypnotize Big Daddy.
Enrage.
Security Bullseye.
Lets think this through for real. In real life, you would be so flippin' scared, you would probably just end up killing yourself. Lets say you lived in Oympus Heights. In real life, I want you to think about this real hard. Would you come out of your apartment? Answer that question.

I would be frighten at first but after a while the fright would go away and I would just be curious as to what was going on outside. I hate not knowing something and to not know what was happening right outside my front door would bother me to no end. Rapture is my home and I couldn't live my life afraid of stepping outside of my apartment. I would probably venture out heavily armed and see what had happen to the rest of the city. I would probably never kill myself either, the city might of gone to hell in the proverbial handbasket but I'm not the type to give up easily and I would stay alive no matter what maybe in hopes that one day all the splicers would be dead and my home would once again return to normal. An impossible dream, but its better to live an impossible dream than to live without hope.

If I was locked up in my apartment alone while hearing ppl killing each other outside, it would make me crazy.... and it would be boring after a while. So it's either killing myself or going outside.
If I'd go outside, I'd probably try to side with someone strong and not too crazy (no thanks, Mr. Cohen!) and wait for rescue / a chance to escape / death. Meanwhile shooting everyone who is in my/our way.
Fontaine? maybe? or am i the only one?I'd probably try to side with someone strong and not too crazy
EDIT:as deep underwater as Rapture would be, i doubt that would be possibleI would find some diving gear, crack the windows open, swim like a fishy to surface

Yeah. Six miles under the Atlantic. As funny as it would be seeing you swim as a 'fishy' greatly alluding Sander Cohen's "moth" (:P), you probably would run out of air by then lol
I would team up with the little sisters. They have all the teddy bears and candy in the world (or Rapture). And, they have the bigdaddys. So, miniskirt is a must I guess, but that's totally worth it.![]()
Interesting. Siding with someone is probably neccesary. I would never, at least not permanently, side with Fontaine though. His friends had the habbit of "disappearing" when they turned inconvenient. In the Ryan/Atlas confilct I would've probably sided with Ryan first, then gone over to Atlas when Ryan showed his real face, so in the end I'd probably end up with Fontaine anyway...
However, can you really escape Rapture? The bathyspheres might all be genetically locked and guarded. And you can't just swim up, the water pressure would turn you into the size of a football or worse in a matter of seconds. You will always need the ADAM too (I doubt that very many lived completely without it). To side with Tenenbaum might have some benefits, she turns out pretty nice in the end at least. She could help to supply you a steady stream of ADAM, and is the only person alive who would have any chance of ever curing the addiction. Her hideout also seems pretty safe, and you would not be completely alone. In return, she is in need of a stupid wrench-wielding brute to to her dirty work outside of the hideout, like Jack.
I doubt that you can survive on your own though, at least without heading down the ADAM spiral.
i would think most of the rapture residents would not know who she is.To side with Tenenbaum might have some benefits, she turns out pretty nice in the end at least.
Thats why i said i would join up with Fontaine long enough to get myself smuggled out, as that would really be the only way to leave. The bathyspheres might all be genetically locked and guarded.
Aye, however I doubt that Fontaine would let anyone escape, under any circumstances.
I'd be a big daddy.![]()
I have thought about what I would do if I was resident of Rapture. I personally would barricade off my house with anything I could find (couches, planks, exct...) Then I would proabley have 2 turrets by the door if the barricade broke through. I'd proabley still live normely (if you call not leaving your house normal) playing the piano while looking at the ocean aside me. Would proabley die eventually (ie food and such) but would keep strong for a while....
probably go insane from the lonliness and hearing all the crazy **** going on outside your apartmentI have thought about what I would do if I was resident of Rapture. If I were living in Rapture right after the poopy hit the fan, I would do the best thing and sit in my apartment with my wife and kid listening to the haunting "The Party's Over Now" by Noel Coward. After that, I'd brace myself for those psychotic ADAM junkies to come a'knocking on my door, or rather bashing down my door. I'd then save my family the torment of being subjected to almost certain death at the hands of those mutated freaks, by giving them a gentle overdose of prescriptive drugs and then hiding there bodies in a secure place. As for me, well I'd be there sitting idly on the bed awaiting there eventual and inevitable break-in. And when they do, I'll be waiting for them, revolver in hand...ready...ready...to shoot myself in the bloody head to spare me trying my odds against a wave of spliced up mutated, psychotically deranged lunatics. But then...they wouldn't know that I rigged my place up with machine gun and RPG turrets ready to blow them all to high hell and with it me and my home.
The End...

shoot yourself?...id take my chances against the splicers. They're splicers, not wolves, so i imagine once they get to you they'd kill you pretty quick, so it wouldnt be too agonizing, or maybe as a last resort you could splice up some yourself to even the plane a little. Then blow up your house. And when they do, I'll be waiting for them, revolver in hand...ready...ready...to shoot myself
I don't know actually, we don't know how much is splicerhood itself and Ryan's Pheromones. They might actually leave a guy they think can defend themselves alone, if there isn't enough to gain by taking the risk. For example, they seldom (perhaps due to in-game issues) attack the Big Daddies. So - flex your muscles, wave your macinegun and scream "I warn you, I know karate, judo and three other Japanese words!".
I'd probably stock up on plasmids, weapons, ammo, etc. and fight my way to the surface. Then again in that type of situation you never know what you'd do.
This may sound a little weird but I think I would feel less frightened if I was a Rapturian citizen more so if I was a random who came to Rapture and was unfamiliar to the place. If I was a citizen I would just focus on Rapture in its prime and all the good moments that I had there. I dunno, I just feel a little bit safer if I was familiar with the place that I lived at for years because I knew where everything was. It sort of makes sense, because if you just see Rapture in runes then you're probably thinking "what is this place?! This is totally sketchy", and all this stuff would be new to you.
But as much as I enjoy playing the level Fort Frolic over and over, there is NO chance in he** that I would step foot in there in real life haha. I'd like to keep away from those human statues, thank-you very much.
I think I would just stock up on some items/food/weapons, etc. And then put up some dozens of turrets in front of Fontaine's apartment. Then I would stay and sleep at Fontaine's place. And play pool.. by myself.
I think he has a pool table..
I would be one of the sneakiest smugglers EVER (so sneaky even Fontaine would doubt I was one, even though I'd be working with him). I'd snag as many plasmids and weapons as I could over the time that Rapture thrived and then lock myself in my apartment and wait for the destruction to slow down. When the "war" over Rapture occurs (a bit earlier than when Jack gets there), I'd try to survive like it was a freaking zombie outbreak (except instead of zombies there would be crazy spliced up psychopaths out to kill you, but other than that, not much difference).
I think at first I'd be scared, but eventually I'd make my way out of my apartment and then probably try to side with someone. Maybe Cohen or one of his apprentices. (His apprentices might not try to attack you if you weren't working with Cohen...they seem slightly more sane than others.) Or maybe old Peachy would let me join him. So long as he doesn't get really paranoid and think I'm working with Fontaine. Tenenbaum is also probably an option. Or maybe I'd just follow a Big Daddy around (At a safe enough distance that the Little Sister isn't freaked out.) and if I get attacked, try to get the Splicer to hit the BD or LS so that the BD would attack them. Then run for cover till the fight is over and then continue following him. I would definitely not splice though.
And they're usually not very fast.
If I had hide anywhere in Rapture it would have to be in Langford's lab. The place has tight security and it's in a central hub; it's next to the metro, the farmer's market, and the rest of Arcadia. It's the perfect place to hide out in and relatively splicer free(that is until Jack comes around).
id find a way to smuggle as many plasmids out of there and bolt.
i would not stick around.
id do anything to get my ass out of there.
then, like someone else already said, use plasmids to become a sports star or something that would make alot of money.
