    Any questions for the team?

    hey guys,

i'm compiling a Q&A/FAQ for the Cult of Rapture, and i'd love if you could post any remaining questions you may have about BioShock PS3 that you would like to see in that feature. i can't guarantee we'll get to all of them, but i'll try!

    ask away.

NOTE: you won't get answers in this thread. this is just for asking questions. the team won't reply here.

What was it like having the development split between four teams? What challenges did this create and what advantages were there?

Followup question: How awesome is Bioshock PS3? (Correct answer: So Awesome)

  3. #3
It's been something of a fad to jump on the "It's quite difficult to program for." bandwagon in regards to PS3 development. Did you find this to be the case? What specific challenges forced the team to think differently than they would have in previous projects?

    Follow-up ?

Would you say that despite these challenges you have created an equal, if not superior experience to that of the Xbox 360's version?

How was creating the challenge rooms like? Did you like making new areas of Rapture and if so did it give the team the chance to include areas that didn't make it into the full game?

How are the controls? Are we going to be able to change them if R2/L2 are used for fighting? Is the 4:3 problem going to be there or the game is 16:9 native? How big is exactly the install?

You'll release a demo on PSN?

Edit: one more question: The challenge room will be included with the game or we need to buy via DLC from PSN?

I'd like to know what the games native resolution is without software upscale, 640, 720, 1080?

Dark Sector runs at 640p as did GTA IV, both of which had softer edged due to software upscale. Previews seem to suggest that there are less jaggies on the PS3 version of BioShock so it makes me curious.

Are there any hints to BioShock 2 in the game? Such as a teaser trailer?

Oh man, that would be so cool. Beat the game on survivor mode to unlock a Bioshock 2 teaser.

Did the team prototype any interesting features during the PS3 development and if so, why did they end up being missed out?

    Good questions everyone.
idk if this has been asked, but I think someone said on here that we are not getting a special edition, but is there any chance of getting something for pre ordering the game or buying it on the first day? Like a poster or something.

Was the plan always to make a stright port, or was there a point where they wanted to make this a Special/Director's Edition of BioShock but maybe had to steer away from that because of time or some other reason?

What exactly is the demo going to feature? Any spoilers in it? How big is it going to be?

How many challange rooms will there be, and will there be a challange rooms that take place in Arcadia, or the Medical Pavillion?

Will Challenge rooms cost money to download or will they be free?

A preview I read said the game runs at 720p native and that the 360 version actually ran at 640, I don't know how true that is though.

I was wondering if there will be an ingame colour/contrast adjuster. Or if the team adjusted the colour of the PS3 version of the game. In most multi-platform games there is a fairly noticable difference of colour between the 360 and PS3 versions of the games.

Will there be any other extra's besides the Survior Mode, Trophies, XBOX 360 DLC on the disc, and the challange rooms?

I know your main goal is not to touch or mess the story in any way. So I was hoping there would maybe br a couple of new splicer models, some new audio diaries that don't change the story but maybe go in more detail in parts of the story, or a new weapon (Sniper Rifle anyone?), or even a new plasmid exclusive to the PS3. Because alot of my friends who are avid Bioshock nerds (like myself) are really on the fence of wether to buy it or not. The extras right now are just not enough for them to stick out an extra 40-60$. But if you guys offerd alittle bit more to the plate I'm sure they'll consider to buy it. Either way it's a must buy for me....//

I know it's probably been covered (and the answer is likely to be a very blunt 'no', But my curiousity will always get the better of me.)
With the advent of the 'challenge rooms', will there be any multiplayer features? (Perhaps 2 player challenges) etc?

Does it require online activation and how many PS3s can I install it on?

    Is that a joke?

If not then console games do not suffer from the same piracy issues as the pc so there will be no activation/install limits.

Pffft the activation was only for the PC. You dont install the whole game on the PS3 just the most used files. U still need the disk every time.

Can the team comment on where they are regarding their understanding of the PS3 hardware? Many developers have commented on how difficult it is to work on the system. I suppose what I mean is future PS3 support likely as well for games from the teams involved?
