Extremely hardcore gamers would have no choice but to try to obtain the achievement just so they would be able to say, "yep, I got it." One example of a mischievious developer would be Epic. The people at Epic decided to create an achievement requiring 10,000 kills. 10,000 KILLS! Now that is an insane amount. You would have to play Gears of Warn none stop for several months in order to even come close to getting the achievement. But people still would try to obtain it. I have several friends who are on the quest in getting the achievement, which I think is crazy. Now my question is, what if somebody like Bungie, decides to create a 1,000,000 kills achievement or a 1,000,000,000 kills achievement for Halo 3. You know somebody out there is going to try to accomplish this task, even if they will probably die before they achieve the goal.
