    The anarchy, how to avoid

Again, I'm here to solve bugs and tell you what I know about the game. Have you ever seen how works the anarchy? If you research a tech and in the same moment you say "bla bla ok, change government.." you don't go in anarchy and you are in that government with no problems. That' why some times I don't want to get democracy fast, because I want to use that later. I think most of you have seen this thing, but this could help new players

Yes, I have seen that thread. However, I have never used this bonus of no anarchy. Today using china I didn't want to wait the bonus of the modern era and I switched before the 24th tech

Maybe that's useful if you have many technologies and most of the governments, but staying in despotism for 1 turn isn't good, I prefer to change when I get the tech

Yes, you should of course use that chance when you get it.

I tend to switch a lot in and out of all the governments when I play civs with the "no anarchy" ability. I'll always make sure I'm in the government that fits the current task... It takes practice to get used to, but once you're into it, that ability works great.

At war, and there are a couple of turns until you reach the next city? Swap fundamentalism for monarchy for those couple of turns

Hey there. I am new too CIV REV so I have a question at the risk of being accused of ressurecting an old post or asking a question already answered.

Morte your explaination is a little confusing.

Do you mean that when you receive the initial research completion message for a goverment you can agree to change immediately and not suffer Anarchy but if you refuse and choose to switch later you will suffer Anarchy?

    Thanks, good info to know.

in democracy's case, after 2 turns youve made up for the trade you lost during your one turn of anarchy, so think of all the extra beakers or gold you lost by avooiding democracy for a while...

yeah but if you research democracy you can switch to it that turn without getting 1 turn of anarchy. waiting to switch to it simply makes you lose out on a lot of turns of democracy

i was speaking about this post morte. i think i get it now. he's saying get in democracy asap and if you need to get out of it later don't worry about it. the lost trade will be replaced in 2 turns. of course production and food lost is not factored here.

No, I didn't want to say this.

I said, if you don't want to change government, DON'T RESEARCH democracy and wait, then when you are ready research it to lose 0 turns.

The problem with avoiding democracy is that it also comes with Pikemen. If one of your opponents is going to try a knights rush and you were screwing around trying to save a turn of anarchy, you might not have pikemen in place by the time they show up.

A knith army is not unbeatable.

With americans they attacked me in one turn, I lost two cities then with all things and gold I got (with like 20 cities), I attacked their knights plus pikemen with only archers in my cities (and for a mistake I lost 4-5 archers in one round), with 2 or 3 catapults armies

Sure, but its a lot easier to handle if you've got the pikemen in place ahead of time.

You just have to have more units to stop his attacks, without letting him overrunning you. Then, you prepare your armies

Whenever I get CoL and switch to republic wen they ask me, i get the republic with no anarchy but if I rush a settler THAT turn it still costs 2 pop.
