you skip the difficulty page.....so you enter the game 2 secs earlier
Yeah, this feature seems pretty pointless to me. I never use it because I can never remember what difficulty I played on last time anyway, and the civ selection screen doesn't tell you. I wish it did.
Maybe this feature was in place when they had more customizable features?

...i always play on it because my parents come home early, so i get to play 2 extra seconds..lol jk

....they should of worked on some other area instead of a second play now option....even when i played the demo, i didnt get what was happening...
play now starts you on king, the "normal" level. that's all it means, to my knowledge. i'll double check.
I know I've posted this elsewhere, but for me Play Now only ever starts on Chieftain difficulty. I know it's Chieftain because I start out with the city already settled, 1 warrior, and those annoying tutorial messages.
As per the manual (if anyone cared to read it):
"Play Now
This will start a new game using the same difficulty settings as the last game you played. It skips directly to the 'Select Your Civilization' menu."
That's what it's meant to do. However, it still screws up for me, no matter what difficulty my last game was.
