Am I totally missing something or can we not force the AI to give us something or else we will destroy them? Much like they are allways like "Give me 'insert crazy advanced tech or 90% of your gold reserves here' or I will declare war on you!!!"

I'm not sure of the requirements (i.e. vastly superior army/ tech advancement) but sometimes, if you open up the diplomacy screen you will see the option to demand things of them. Other times, this option seems simply unavailable; I would like the ability to spam them with requests the same way they spam me (I know it is AI but it would probably make me feel a bit better).
