Day - night cycle?

Does anybody know if there will be a regular cycle between day and night in Mafia ll? I know there will be weather and possibly even seasons (info from mafiacenter.cz). I think it would be really cool to have a night since there wasn't any in first one.

About the day-night cycle.
I do not think so, maybe in the freeride, but not in the carrer. So missions are doing with special atmosphere, which is the day/night time too.
Just imagine how would look mission "Trip to a country" (in Mafia1) in a day-time.. Without a storm, it would look absolutly different...
It is not possible for the linear story.

Yeah. They ought to It's been in progress for quite a long while now and I'll be, actualy, we'll all be damned if this game won't be as good or even better than the first one

Iam really looking forward the winter in the game. As we know, the weather will be changing, so maybe the snow will be in the game too. Just imagine Vito in the car in the snow drift.

It will be nice to have day/night cicle but only in free ride. But I want to be, if there will be , One real minute = One game minute, not like in GTA when One real second = one game minute, It sucks.

I agree. It would be cool to have it least in Free ride if not through out the story mode.

But having 1 min = 1 min in a game is ridiculous... Then you'd have to play it for a day to at least get from day to night, since this thread is about that


Btw. in GTA IV 1 minute is 0,5 hours just for the record

I don't know if it's good, but I think it was pretty nice if you are playing the game in night then in game was a night too, but if in day then will be the day, like that. For example your computer time is 15:00 then it's a day in the game and day in real life...

hehe, this is a very interesting idea Then, you'd actually wake up at 5 a.m. just so you could play the game at dawn

Keeping with the much more realistic feel that is unique to Mafia, I don't think they should change it. If they are going to cycle it (be it in free ride or mission mode), it should be REAL-TIME or very close to it (like 24 hours in game = 12 hours in real time).

If it is that long, you may say it is stupid to have it all. I would disagree. It would be a very nice touch and the first Mafia was known for it's numerous NICE/SUBTLE touches. One of the many reasons why I loved the first one.

Oh...and I loved all the different skies in the first Mafia. Though it didn't cycle (good thing), it was 10 times better than anything in any GTA and really help create the mood. I have never felt anything like for any other game and it was such a simple, subtle little thing.

Keep it, 2K Czech - or make it even better by creating a very long cycle!
