Thread: Quick settler moving train

    Exclamation Quick settler moving train

I wish there was a locomotive unit in CivRev. It would be a steam locomotive with tender and a passenger car. It would move warrriors and settlers more quickly then normal.

    Galleon? Cruiser? Bueller?

I think it would bring some difficulties with it. ie: players could find ways to obstruct the tracks.

Yeah. xD roads! After all train tracks would be way more expensive to lay out then roads, each city would count as a stop anyway (like roads) and it could still easily be blocked....like roads. xD

The suggestion is understandable I guess, but its still just a more expensive and relatively useless improvement on roads. O_o so highly unlikely it'd ever happen.

Edit: Plus your units could only get out at cities! Unlike roads, which they can travel along and then get off at anytime along them. =P So that'd decrease the trains usefulness even more.

maybe he's talking about a magical locomotive that doesn't need tracks

Remember the railroad improvement in CivIV? Firaxis could just reimplement that, and it would extend further than cities.

    Can't think of the word.

Something like a Pioneer convoy thingy.
I was just thinking the same thing the other day..

But, since the maps aren't so big, there would be little use of it.

Yes, and they should really implement a luxury yacht so you can take your great people out on holiday. When they return, they would offer 2x the normal bonus; like building two wonders or stealing two cities, or offering +100% to science ... And they should also make a dog unit that would automatically hunt down stolen great people or incoming spies. And lastly, a sniper assassin would really be appreciated; it should have long range (like 5 squares) so you could shoot down the enemies' great people or generals ...

Of course, I wish nothing like this ever befalls my beloved game; including railroads!

If the AI can teleport why can't I. It would be sweet to have that ability. Or atleast have the planes pick up troops, settlers, etc. and take them to another place.

http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19930 the first post has a link to a video, that shows it.

oh man, a people moving plane would be flippin sweet. Like a bomber in range and everything but it can transport modern infantry dudes who parachute where you want them. That would be a sweet animation. Especially with a general in a jeep. I think only modern infantry dudes though. AND if you fill the plane with too many guys to drop at once you lose a turn of fuel.

ya, how about helicopters to transport limited numbers of troops or settlers.
