Thumbs down Ok, starting to get annoyed now

I've posted a couple different times about there needing to be a save feature in private matches and everybody that's responded has agreed, but for some reason the team has decided that since testers didn't come back to their multipalyer games, noone else would.

This is really starting to get old.

I was just in a game with a buddy of mine and we were in the modern era. <about two hours of game time> and what happens? The gears in the corner start spinning and the next turn never comes....we could have just reloaded from a previous save, but that was impossible....why? OH because there's no save feature. Give me a break, this is NOT a hard thing to implement and many people want it...why do you guys refuse to add a save feature? I feel like I'm complaining and asking for something that should be a given in any game. It's rediculous.

So for the about tenth time, I'm not able to finish a game, either because it's been four hours and we don't have entire day to devote to a game, or because of a power flicker, or xbox live disconnected us, or one of the million multiplayer bugs kicking us off. (this game is plagued with them) If you would just add a save feature to the private matches, all these problems wouldn't matter....PLEASE listen to your customers and do something about this. I'm getting really tired of beating a dead horse here and if something isn't done, I know about 5 people who are going to take their games back, and I'm going to be one of them. This is a bunch of bull.

I know I'm coming off kinda like a jerk here, but I'm really really angry about this. I've been eagerly awaiting this game for over a year and something this stupid and simple to fix is ruining it.

Also, quite a few people have commented on this and nobody's gotten an answer about it. Just let us know either way so we can either get something to look forward to, or know that we need to return our games.

Have they come out and said they were not adding a save feature? if they have than i can see why you are getting mad. but if they havent than you need to calm down and give them some time, even an "easy fix" as you call it demands time and money to do, so just chill the hell out.

I don't feel this person needs to 'chill out'. It seems like a reasonable request. I haven't started playing multi-player yet (I will wait for the save feature) but I could certainly imagine the frustration level. Not all of us have hours of time to devote to gaming and having to 'start a new game' after two hours of game time just isn't reasonable. It is a major flaw and needs to be addressed. BTW, can you make lightning round games in multiplayer?

After reading another thread on this I wanted to add the following opinion (yeah, yeah...I know what they say about opinions )

I think the marketing staff may be a wrong about the save feature being not something they are going to look into. This game is a great game for older gamers (the ones with jobs, kids, etc and less time) who tend to like stratagy games more and blowing stuff up less. The kids will go on to the next latest and greatest game fairly quickly. Once the initial influx of money dies down from the game being new, the best market you will have are the folks that see the long term potential and tell their friends to get it too. Which won't happen if they are getting frustrated after a two hour game freezes.

Think about it, those that are patient enough to wait for a long term (in gaming time) reward are going to be putting more emotional investment in a three to four hour game than a three minute one and game crashes will quickly become unacceptable (if you can't back up from a save) even if they are more patient about the 'minor' glitches. I am afraid if you don't make saving a multiplayer game a priority, you will be turning away your long term base of customers.

Normally I would say the game doesn't need a save feature, but with all the crashes, freezes, and glitches, it does.

I can understand not having it in ranked matches but in private matches it is ridiculous... That should definitely be implemented, especially considering the freezes.

I know that when I wrote this yesterday I came off as really pissed off, but that's because I was really angry. I really don't see the logic behind not including saves for private matches.

I don't intend on playing the multiplayer again until this is fixed, and since it probably isn't going to be, I'm going to have to return, and therefore miss out on a game I've been waiting for for a really long time because of something as trivial as a save feature.

This really sucks too because I've played civilization since it came out for super nintendo way back in 1996 (not sure if that's the exact year) and this is my favorite iteration so far. And yeah, I can play single player, but honestly it's too easy, and I was really looking forward to being able to play my friends.

hey was this one with me?(brokenwarrior) I just had a game with two ppl (reciever and chaos ) and the gear things appeared and the game froze after like 2 hours of game.

Talk about pissed. I was producing 2000 gold per turn and had about 10-15 modern infantry armies and a NUKE. And I was even closer to cultural victory,

    -_-

I can deal with all of the quirks, the glitches, the lack of post game stats/info, etc... but this is the deal breaker for me. My friends and I have a 1.5-2 hour window each night after the rest of the family is in bed to play, which means this game isn't an option, at all. I am extremely hopeful that they will reconsider and make this fix a priority but it seems unlikely. It's a great game too, really too bad. I'll give it some time to see if they're going realize how important and crucial this feature is before they lose another future customer.
