Help for a noob. First day playing.

    Hi all,

    I purchased Civ Rev today.

I'm a little confused on one aspect of the game. I was playing for about 2 hours, when suddenly it said, "5 turns to achieve domination victory". In the manual, however, it states domination victory is achieved by destroying the other civs cities. Then it says I have won. Up until this point, I haven't even destroyed one enemy city!

It's frustrating because I haven't even researched all the super high-tech bits yet.

    Thanks for any pointers.

The game ends at 2100 A.D. no matter what. As you get better you will have all tech maxed out long before then. I haven't hit the cap in a single game yet and I've played over 20.

I'm still new to the series but pretty good, I change it up a lot lately as I haven't found my perfect strategy. My most recent method has been to be the Arabs. When I get 100 Gold it gives you a free Settler which I use to form a new city, and I use the Arabs Fundamentalism attack bonus combined with their knowledge of Mathematics to take one or two cities early. I then play the game differently from that point on a variety of factors but generally send a Galley out to scout for artifacts.

I change up what victory type I'm going for depending on items received during the match, what my opponents are doing, how well my cities are growing, etc. so it's hard to say.
