Thread: I just won in 800AD on king with the Zulu.

  1. I just won in 800AD on king with the Zulu.

It was my first time playing with them. That extra movement helps a ton for a quick victory. I was able to take out 3 civs before 0 AD with a Impi warrior army, then I took out the greeks with a catapult and horsemen army.
I was surprised out how well I did with the Zulu. They are a very good civ for a quick victory.

Can you explain me how do you manage to build even a little army, move it around and do 3 wars in so little rounds? I really don't get it.

Then, can anyone explain me how do people manage to win at 3000-2000 BC?? I just make an army in that time!

This is the game of the week, you're thinking about right? Here are some useful tips:

    - You know the whole map, where huts, villages, relics, landmarks and other civs are (since it is the same every time).

    - The randomization is the same on each game. This means that you can figure out a sequence of moves that gives you i.e. horseback riding from a hut (or settlers or horsemen etc.). It also means that if you attack another civ after a specific sequence of moves, the outcome will ALWAYS be the same. From this, you could try over and over until you find the magic combination that gives you "luck".

    - Armies can be rushed using gold, which again can be found using exploration, selling units or from cities.

    - If you go to manage workers --> custom in your city, you can set all workers to production. This gives a lot faster unit production than the other options.

In a regular single-/multi-player game, I don't think the players would win that quickly (at least I wouldn't).

Thanks for the tips, eireksten! now it makes sense. I didn't play too much, so I couldn't understand what people meant with "puzzle". Yeah, but it would really be a matter of restarting all over all the times. But at least I've got the concept.

Zulu are beast. build an impi army in 9 turns then overun some barbarians then take a capitol or 2. if you are to slow and cant get the last 2 capitals then just box them in and work on tech then go for an economic victory.

You need 8 turns, not 9, however it always depend from luck and the economic victory isn't fast enough to win before the year 1000 AD if you want that, however in other cases that could be good. But they aren't a good civ to rush others

Edit: for example in the real life they conquered a lot of barbarian villages, not cities or other things..
