It is a strategy game where you can beat the game by either concoring(spelling?) all the enemy territory, or do other stuff, I haven't played it either but my uncle is a big fan of the Civilization series and he played all of them, he told me about it he was going to let me borrow it, I will defenately get Revolution, also there is another way of beating the game and that is be the first country in Space I think but that is a different mode.

I really enjoyed CIV. It's very addictive. There are only a couple things I recall not liking:

In combat there was always a finite chance you could lose even if you had overwhelming tech superiority. In other words, there was always a very small possibility that an Apache Gunship could be swatted from the sky by a caveman with a club.

The other problem was with the difficulty levels - I think there were about 8 or 10. Higher difficulty did not make the AI smarter. It merely let them cheat by building armies/resources and researching much more quickly.

But, neither of these problems kept me from playing CIV until my eyes bled.

And for any CIV fans out there who got just as addicted to the game's music, here's the title track Baba Yetu in it's full hifi glory straight from the composer's homepage. It's the Lord's Prayer sung in Swahili by Talisman A Cappella from Stanford University.

The whole original soundtrack is awesome with only a few original pieces. The game runs from 4000 BC all the way into the future and each era has its own music. So it's like a 6000 year journey across the history of music.

It's a strategy game where you create a civilization that goes from the dawn of time into the space age. It has a lot of different ways to play, so everyone plays it however it suits them best. You have the same chances of winning by attacking everyone as you do if you play as a total pacifist.

Poison17: You're correct, there are multiple ways to win, but it's all the same mode. In CivRevolution there are military, economic, cultural and space race victories.

There really aren't any different "modes" to Civ...if you play multiplayer you're playing single player only with other people instead of A.I., so you can always play however you like.

Lets avoid bumping up really old topics. This one is about a year old.

    Thanks!
