Can't play - Freeze

Hello

I just picked up bioshock and installed it with no troubles. I went on to start playing so I set the xbox360 control in the options and went to new game, after picking difficulty level the game freezes. I can sorta see the loading screen and there is sound still playing.


I am running

Windows Vista ULTIMATE x64
ASUS striker II formula mobo
Intel core 2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50GHz
Nvidia Geforce 8600GT x2 (SLI) apprx total memory 2gigs
RAM - 8 gigs
Directx 10

have you tried it without the xbox360 controller setting?

Yes I did and the same thing happens.
