I was just wondering how far everyone has gotten as far as technology in the demo.
Playing online with my friend, we were able to reach FLIGHT using the Great University wonder.
Without that wonder, we still managed to get Railroad, Steam Power, Printing Press, a few others, I forget.
(This is with sharing technologies, though it didn't seem to make THAT much of a difference because I got Railroad on my own, and almost Steel.)
I played Egyptians, he plays Romans.
I feel like we are the first, if not two of the few who managed to reach this column of technology. As it clearly says "Buy the full game to gain access to this technology."
I read a while ago someone gave a challenge to the forums for the demo to reach the column with Metallurgy and whatever else in it, and I'd like to say to that person "you've been trumped."
I know that this also involve a good deal of luck with great people, etc. But it's very do-able. As I said, I reached Railroad by myself as Egyptians, he also accomplished this solo as Romans.
I had about 5 or 6 cities when I reached Railroad solo and almost Steel, I was producing around 183 science per turn.
Just wanted to know if anyone else has gotten this far, farther, or what.
I think the fact that we reached Flight is pretty significant.
