no problem! Theres so much negativity here I don't know why. I found this place after I saw the best buy ad and started roaming around for information about the exclusive content. Now I find out there is something far better than DLC I can get later anyways for some pocket change
Hopefully more of us real fans can stick around and help balance out all the foolishness I've seen so far here on this forum. People need to relax and enjoy the game, that is how it's always been with sid/civ games.
an official forum is a place to talk directly to the source. and, because this is the direct source, it's a great place to come with comments, complaints, and problems.
why complain on any forum, when you can talk directly to the dev who might be able to fix it?
negativity may be bothersome, but if it's kept productive and on topic, it's one of the reasons this place works -- to help fans get the best game possible. i want to know about problems, big or small, because then i can figure out what's going on explain to people what's going on and fix them.
that's a very good thing you guys have going there unlike other games (HALO3 WHICH I LOVE) where you have to Buy all there DLC to play Matchmaking

Hi Elizabeth, I have three questions about these downloadable contents. Now I myself, am from the UK, and so it obviously means no DLC for me from the games themselves. So my first question is - Will the UK/EU/AU be getting the DLC at or around the same time as the US or will we have to wait longer to get the game?
Secondly, will the Hall of Achievements (or whatever it's called) be updated to add spaces for each of these Wonders?
Thirdly... will you be releasing a pack with all five DLC's in the future?And I agree, the poster is AMAZING... wish I could get it...
Finally! I knew something like this would happen, US players get extra content! Why couldn't we get this gift when pre-ordering in the Europe? ...So we have to buy them all now..? Would you mind treating the Europeans equally..?
Btw, in Halo 3, the only playlist you can't play without purchasing the map-pack is the playlist which runs those maps only... So I wouldn't say you have to buy all the DLC...

I just got back from purchasing the game, and I wanted to vent my frustration before starting it up.
I wanted the poster from Circuit City because I think that art is just amazing. I had to go to THREE Circuit Cities to get it. The first two looked at me like I was insane, even though I showed them the circular. One employee dead-panned that they probably sold out of the posters...even though they hadn't even opened the box of games yet.
I finally found one employee that went the extra mile and searched high and low. I have the poster, I have the game and I also have a reaffirmed belief that B&M is a waste of time.
Dear 2K, next time, just give the gifts to Amazon and Buy.com, two companies with a great customer service record...

Because we got the game early. You should have waited a month to get the game and then had it shipped it from the US.Next time read my question. I stated specifically the EU. Eliazebeth's post talks about the US/Canada, I want to know when they'll be available in the UK, and if I'll have to wait a long time, or if I can get it the same day it's released in the US (i.e. will we have to wait for them like we had to wait for the EU demo).

Just have it shipped from the US, why wait so long.
Because:
A) I already have the EU version of the game
B) If I get it from one of these stores and get the free gift, I can't get the others because I don't have a US based Credit Card, which means I'm screwed for the other add-ons.

Hey...I'll give one of you Europeans who GOT the game first my code (it was in the case of the game). Believe me, I WISH we (USA) would have been playing the full version for a month.
The game rocks, but, I don't give a rat's a$$ about the "free" gift.
EU/AUS/NZ should get the additional DLC on the same day or very close to it (sometimes there are minor difference in QA between the territories) as the US territories.
Personally, I want to buy a bigger version of the Circuit City poster. I bought both the 360 (Gamestop) and DS (Circuit City) versions of the game, does that entitle me to a freebie?
I was wondering, will this gift be in the game of the week? Since everyone will be using the same nation/map.
Having played through the games a couple times now I: a) See a lot of these new wonders are just slightly tweaked versions of the ones already in the game, and b) Wish I had gotten one from Gamestop to get the SETI gift in a few months (I bought mine from Best Buy), since that one seems the most valuable to the way I play.
Regardless, I'll buy all of the other packs anywayand... This game is just so much fun! Man, is it brutal though. On Chieftan the entire world is warring with me. That used to be a breeze in CIV IV. Beating it on King and higher is going to be a real challenge.
I just received my preordered copy from Gamestop.com and included in the package was a card telling me to go to www.2kgames.com/civredeem. I did this and got a error 404 telling me the page doesn't exist.
I then found my way here only to discover that the download isn't available yet.
How unprofessional! The least 2kGames could do is place a temporary page at www.2kgames.com/civredeem to tell me, and others like me, that the downloads will be available at a later date. I thought I was entering the address wrong. There will be other customers that won't have a clue what is wrong.
Well... that was quick. No sooner did I post and there is now a page there. Its a little hard to read, but at least it gets the point across.

EDIT: It appears that the page is appearing randomly and most of the time it gives the 404 error. They should really get the page working better.

I just got back from Circuit City after picking up CivRev. I asked about the poster, and they said they sold out yesterday, since they only received 5 copies. The clerk and manager did mention that more posters will be coming in soon, and that I might be able to pick mine up then, but it won't be for "a while". Any word on when 2K is shipping out more posters, so I can snag mine before they sell out again?
Anyone? I went to another Target today and they didn't have any copies for any system either, and didn't even appear to have shelf space for the PS3 version.
Not the most critical of questions but I have to be in California at the end of the month to prep for Siggraph, so I won't be near my PS3. Will the codes on our cards be void after a certain amount of time?

Yeah, I saw that but I wasn't sure if the PS3 version not being listed as having DLC at Target was an error or just a really bizarre decision.
