Really Need Help

Please will someone help me? i've been waiting for like a year to play this game, and now i scrounged up money to buy hardware to play the game, and when i finally got everything that even exceedes the games minimum requirements, it still doesnt want to play. Everything ran perfectly fine with no lag at all, but i had no sound. So i whent out to buy a sound card, the diamond 7.1 extreme sound card, and now all of a sudden, the game wont even run at all. i took the card out thinking it was the cards fault, but it still wouldnt run. Please if anyone can help me, i would greatly appreciate it. Thank You.

Please post all your specs, OS (32 or 64bit as well), 3D Card make and model and driver version. Sound card, again, make, model and driver version (was it the one off of the cd that came with it?), and processor make and speed.

Also please do not make numerous posts! You can stick with one post and reply to it every once in a while and that will bring it back to the top! Thank you. This lets everyone see the entire conversation so people don't end up repeating suggestions or asking many times for specs!

Ok, here's the link to Diamonds website for your soundcard: Here but unfortunately right now when you click on the support tab and go to download the latest drivers the support website (dmmsupport.com) times out so we'll have to wait for that website to come back up.

Here are the latest WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs - Certified drivers) for your video card.

Also your build 6000 of Windows Vista says you do not have Service Pack 1 installed (Service Pack 1 is build 6001). Go into your control panel and choose Windows Update then keep applying all updates it offers until it offers Service Pack 1 then install that too (551 bug fixes with a good chunk of them being in performance and reliability).

Also have you read and tried everything in the: Vista specific troubleshooting post? It is important to turn off the tablet service especially and also you can try the various compatibility modes to see if any of them make Bioshock go.

Doing all these things could take a while (budget 1 hour for Service Pack 1 alone) so please respond to your thread again after you've worked through everything and that "bump" will bring it back to everyones attention!

well yes ima nub, and thnak you headkase, with your post, i can now run the game perfectly. no log, alot of sound, amazing graphics, which btw i would like to show off, but i need a tut on ghosting.

So if anybody...IF ANYBODY has a tutorial on ghosting that i could look at, it would be soooo helpful. thanks mods once again, headkase and cherry, you guys helped me to the finish line. <3
