is there i way i can stop that??

It's as Judge said. It's because this is for console, so only fast games. For example you will play a game in single as maximum of 4-5 hours. In civilization IV for example i have played about 30 hours or more for an earth game or other single player games. But in civ. revolution you can't stop the timer, you can't set options for the game, it's as you can see

Use the Tech tree and plan the fastest route to "Space Filight"
Thats what I did and managed to get to Alpha Centauri by 2080AD

In a FFA ranked game, I completely concentrated on science, fought NO WARS (important)and managed to tech victory 2000AD

This is something I put together for others in your situation, hope it helps

    - Play as Chinese or Greek

    - Make sure your workers are focusing on science in the city management screen

    - Make sure your city is producing vials and not gold (also in city management screen, press Y to swap (Xbox 360)).

    - Concentrate on defence and try to expend as little of your resources on building armies to attack

    - Try to have about 4-5 big cities. Preferable sea side

    - Build things like libaries and universities whenever possible

    - Make sure you settle any great science people, preferably in your cities that produce the most vials.

    - Trade techs with other civs where appropriate.

    - Don't bother too much with wonders.

Put together it forms the basics to a tech win. Hope it works out.

Just to add to the whole tech win, don't forget you don't have to fully complete the ship to send it to alpha centauri....

Just buy one hab unit and one life support (keeping the ship as light as possible) and then focus on the engines and fuel pods to make it faster

    Just wondering

Does any of you guys 'agree' to the locked number of moves, or hours you can play? Couse I myself find it rather annoying. I mean, it's cool they've given the game more speed and you can wipe out your enemies easy enough in a short amount of time (way before the timer runs out even). But, when I WISH to take my time and build myself a HUGE empire, should I be punished, just for playing on a console? (xbox360 in my case). I think not.

Maybe they'll get some sort of patch / downloadable content to make it possible to play longer, or that perhaps enables you to continue playing after the "forced" win. I sure hope so. Anyways, please let me know what you guys think and maybe it's just me who need to be explained a couple of things.

    Thanks,

p.s. Remains to be said, it's a fantastic game.

It doesn't matter what we think about the fixed number of turns, as it has been REPEATEDLY stated that it WILL NOT BE CHANGED. The 2100AD finish time was a design decision, that was taken early on, after much consideration, purely to cater for the console game.

Just remember this is Civilization Revolution 1. This is not a civilization sequel, it is the very first console only one, and as such that is how they have treated it. Yes, you can compare the two, as they are made by the exact same people, but IT'S A DIFFERENT GAME.

Quite weird conclusion, who says I'm comparing. I never compared, since I have never played earlier civilization games. Just pointing out that I think it's a shame we can't play past the barrier. That's all.

    Have a nice day,

    My Indian Stratagy

    Online:

Beste way to do is is go for the vials, like explaned earlyer.
First of you want bronze working, because nothing beats Archers defending your city.

Then go for culture as well, then you will get great leaders who can finish your research alot quicker and of course converting city's with culture.
It is the best way to get more city's without fighting a battle or spending time on settlers.

Build all the wonders you can after you completed your archers army's.
With wonders you get good bonuses, and try to make library's and university's.

Then just work your way true the tech planner, and try to trade alot with other players the fastest way of getting all the researches.

You should be able to get modern era around 1600.

I once got Athomic reaserach in 1200AD because of the university wonder
Once a friend of mine got space flight online true the university, so it might work out.
