I know this has probably been talked about already but give me a break I'm new. I live in America but I'm going to England next week and I wanna pick up this game while I'm there. If I do so will I be able to play it on my American Xbox 360?

APPARENTLY games become 'Region Free' if you play them in HD, however I have no confirmed sources, just what people have said in the forums that moderate. But the SD versions usually aren't region free (only rarely). I wouldn't risk it, since it'll be much more expensive to port as it is.

PS3 version is region free, well every PS3 game is.

Wouldn't you need a PAL TV for Europe Games?
Not necessarily. The HD frame sizes are the same and since the game has to handle multiple resolutions already, it may be able to deal with PAL and NTSC resolutions.
The real question seems to be whether 2K decided to make the game region-locked or not on the 360. As far as I know, a lot of 360 games are not region-locked, even if the console supports region-locking.
I wish they would just answer it so I don't waste money next week and end up having to buy it again over here. Also if the game is region locked could you play it in Hd because the tvs here and there are the same like the kid above me said?
If it's region-locked, your console will just refuse to play it.

I think by not answering the question they actually do answer the question. You can't expect a company to say to people to buy copies overseas as not a lot of shops in the US will be happy with that. The result would be that they will boycot Civ Rev and every game from 2k with that.

The PS3 version is region free. ALL PS3 games are region free.

I have nothing better to do then to visit these forums everyday for the last 2 months. This question has been asked a lot and IS being dodged.
I don't expect answers right away and this answer doesn't really apply to me. BUT I do know for certain that 2 months and no answer is a dodge. Do not claim otherwise. Elizabeth is very good at responding and is quick about it so somethings up preventing her to respond.
But I do have a feeling that she is away right now as there is one thread on here discussing piracy and has a pirate webpage address in it and the threads still going.
Dev team probably wants a moderator on that thread.

I really want this game for xbox not PS3. I like xbox better. SO it really would be a big help if they could just answered the question so people won't waste money.
The game clearly states that it is only for PAL 360s and TVS So I doubt it will work on and american 360.
are you seeing that on the game case?

I would but my camera phone wont pick up the text very well. But it says for use only with Xbox 360 entertainment systems with "PAL" designation.

How i got it? Got a friend to buy it and ship it to me.
i called xbox and the guy said that he and his friends tested it and it does work on an american console. im getting mine on friday.
What are these few things? Whats different about it?
Since i dont know what PAL is i dont know what possibly could be different... Does it mean its a different game or different language?
I'll have to know that "EVERYTHING" works fine before i pay $50 for anything...
PAL just means it was made for European regions.
Nothing hasn't worked for me yet.
PAL basically means it was made for European regions, NTSC means it was made for american regions, NTSC-J means it was made for asian regions.
This game happens to be PAL but is playable on NTSC consoles aswell, but not NTSC-J so technically not region free but is playable on american consoles.

Does 2k Elizabeth or BioshockWins know what doesnt work or is changed in the PAL version..

Ohh yeah and another question about the PAL version not working for me is because unlike the majority of people i still have a crappy TV. No HD or whatever fancy smancy stuff most have, actually its just a $100 used on sale tv from best buy... I think i remember someone saying PAL works fine if your using HD tv or better or something... maybe the guys that said it works fine never tested it on a normal non hd tv?
All i know is that the game should work on our american consoles. Ill definitely find out friday.
