I was thinking about what I wanted in Civ Rev 2, and in addition to Split Screen Multiplayer support,
I really want to see a lot more available modern and future techs to research and units to build...
Here are the modern techs I could brainstorm...
String Theory, Nuclear Fusion, Cloning, Genetic Engineering, Lasers, Missile Defense Project, GPS/Satellites (gives you whole map), Internet
If I thought about it, I could probably think up a lot more great techs and more awesome features for Civ Rev 2 based on the following games...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_of_Orion
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_...tle_at_Antares
The modern wonders I could brainstorm... The Hadron Collider, the Hubble Space Telescope, The Space Station, The Moon Colony.
The only modern unit I came up with were Mechs, but I wasn't thinking very hard.
I would also introduce alien civilizations that you only encounter when you explore other planets. The game doesn't end in a tech victory with a space shuttle, it instead turns into a game similar to Sid Mieirs Alpha Centuari with you exploring differnt planets.
I also would love to see...
Split screen multiplayer so we can share the game with our families.
Bring back Civics because inventing your own form of religion/government/society >>> preset governments.
Decreased micromanagement of units, at the very least, having an autoexplore option would be awesome. But it would be perfect if you could just tell your military advisor to attack a city in so many turns, and he will take care of moving all your nonfortified military units, clumping them all together, forming them into armies, and arriving all of them at the city together, then first attacking them with a spy, then other units.
The option to have bigger maps, and more players per map, and specify, land only (no sea etc).
A map maker would be awesome.
Honestly for now Civilization Revolutions is very close to my dream civilization game.
It's the perfect balance between not having too much micromanagement and having strategy/options and is the perfect entry of the franchise to consoles, but it the sequel will need more.
So brainstorm here all the future techs, future wonders, and future units you would love to see...

It's such a controversial topic that I wonder if he'd be comfortable with the idea of making it a benefit.
