    Good place to import from?

Ok, this demo has made me want the game NOW! Not in a month from now, but NOW. I was wondering if my fellow civers from across the pond could inform me of a good online site to order games from (preferably one that does overseas shipping). It would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

I was thinking maybe ebay or amazon, but I don't know if they do overseas..

  4. You guys are aware that importing it from the EU will make the game pretty much twice as costly right? If so ebay is really your only real bet And note that if there are ever any add-ons to the game which cost, you will need to download that add-on via the EU store or you wont be able to use it.

That is easy lol, me being one of your overseas, tea-drinking, rain covered, Queen loving Civ friend i would suggest that you go to play.com
It has free delivery ( i'm pretty sure it is to any where) and the game is only £29.99 (which i think is about $59 am i correct it is usually double the £) anyway, that is where i would suggest you get it from.
i wouldn't suggest that you get it from Ebay as your not sure that you won't just get an empty case with a CivRev cover on it and Amazon is more expensive than the place i suggest
Also they said it would be released on this Friday but they have it in stock already so maybe i will get my pre-ordered 1 soon

If you need to ask me anything else just drop us a PM

Hope this has helped, maybe the next time we talk we'll arrange a match in which i can beat you lmao

I heard my fellow euro civers already discuss prices and there seems to be only one sweet spot in europe and that is the UK! Price of the game in the UK is half the price of what we pay in the rest of europe. So if the need is high, wich I truly understand, check UK shops or friends to import.

I looked at Play.com and doesn't appear to go across the pond.

  8. Things to note:

Play.com regardless to what The Gamer Man 2 thought does not ship overseas.
Game.co.uk is cheaper if you have a Game Card. Preodering gets you double points (which is like £1-£2), and since the actual game it self is £30 (same as play.com) with the points you get, your essentially getting it for around £28
Amazon.co.uk have the same price as Play.com and also have free delivery - to anywhere in the UK
Play.com even if they have it in stock will NOT send you the game early
ebay is most likely hte only place you can port it, but it'll be £30 + shipping charges, which'll be around $80 for you guys...

Your best bet is probably game.co.uk, who do export to the U.S.A for only £4.95 (about $10).

Great site! One problem though, they wont take my card it seems. I'm using a Visa card. Any ideas?

According to their site they accept Visa, mate.

EDIT: On a cautionary note though: are you sure that the PAL version will work on your NTSC console? It's not my field of expertize, but as I understand it these console games are supposed to be region coded.

I thought PAL/NTSC incompatabilities were between consoles and TVs, not between games and consoles -- in other words, if you bought a ps3 from Europe, it may not output the right resolution/format to US TVs, but I don't think there's any difference in the actual games (since ps3 games are not region locked)

You could be right, Rob. It's not really a topic I've ever looked into, although I did once see a list of games that are cross-compatible between PAL and NTSC consoles.

It might just be the case that Civ Rev turns out to be such a game.

Unfortunately I filled out the entire order form and was ready to order and it just wouldn't take my order for some reason. I'm guessing its because of my payment method. I'll see if one of my buddies has a mastercard or something.

I think it has been answered before but I can't find it. If i buy the 360 version
from the UK will it work in the US. Same for the PS3?
    Thanks for your help.

What sucks is that I'm in Europe now, coming back to the US tomorrow. I could have picked up the PS3 version if it would have come out on the 8th. Now I miss it by 3 days and have to wait a month.

And I haven't got to play the demo yet, because I've been in Europe since the demo came out...double loss.

2K hasn't answered whether CivRev is region locked or not(the 360 itself is, but games aren't required to be) As for the PS3, I don't know...I know the system isn't region locked, but I don't know if any of the games are or not.

And as someone else said, you won't be able to download any DLC to an import copy of the game.

  19. The PS3 and it's games are not region locked. So if you import it you can play it. I'm not aware if the X360 is the same or not, but I do know that Sony don't mind having accounts in other regions, whilst Microsoft don't, so... not sure really.

And I believe you need a UK Mastercard/Visa much like the PS store requires a US Mastercard/Visa to buy things from there
