I believe it depends on who you bought it from.
Also, possibly on what platform you got it for.
GameStop (And presumably EB Games) aren't doing a gift, just going by their website.
Walmart also appears not to be giving anything away.
Target seems the same way.
When I pre-ordered from Amazon, I didn't notice anything.

Until then, it seems, based on early fliers, that Circuit City has the Brute Propaganda poster, but Best Buy will have "Exclusive downloadable content for Xbox360 and PS3" if you buy from them? I have no idea what that might be - an extra scenario, a gamer pic/theme, something else?

Beats me, I've ordered my copy from Amazon.com. It says nothing about a special gift with the game.
Got mine pre ordered from gamestop and no mention of gift, of course it is only 5 days away so maybe the gift is a free plastic bag or shiny new receipt. There might even be the chance that the free gift is thank you from the retailer you ordered from..............just kidding the gift would only be icing on the cake as the game is good enough for me. Now if someone could tell me when they are shipping my faceplate for the 360 for this wonderful post.........
If I were to guess? Some kind of DLC that we would get for free that the UK and EU will have to pay for. Maybe around 10 dollars.

The store will not know until 2k tells them, and it seems like their employees don't even know yet. The announcement will come before the game ships, which should be at least 3-5 days before the realease date.
That is the fun of the "gift" we are officially 5 days from launch and for business days we are actually 2. Considering the 4th is a holiday and Saturady and Sunday are non business days we are actually really close for any gift to be announced read 2 days including today.
this isn't a pre-order gift, to make it clear. you can stroll into the store on the 9th and get your gift with purchase -- so don't stress!

yes but some Idiotic Store's (probably every store) will forget to give you anything (Gift) with your purchase.
the guy at gamestop just told me you get a t-shirt and exclusive dlc for the "gift". At least on the PS3 version anyway, didn't ask about others.

The 8th luckily I am off the next 3 days from work as well.
