    Smile Overall Opinion Of Demo

So then you people in America, What are your opinions of the new demo (as we here in Europe can't get the demo )

Is it as good as you expected and as good as 2K have been saying or has it not reached the standard's you had hoped (i'm sure i already know the answer, just checking)

Obviously you only get some of the game in the demo, but here are some questions for you:
Is it fun to play? (really important)
    Does it get boring?
    Are the graphic's good?
Is the game play on the console controller easy?
Is the fighting action realistic and overall good?
    Do the building's look good?
Are the different tech's you can research good?

and ofcourse most important of all.....
Do you get dancing bears? lmao

Plz write back i'm eager to know

No offense, but you should just look at the other topic instead of making a new one.

Hahaha! LOL! Conquered everyone with Rome and Cultured with Egypt.

Is it fun to play? Yes
    Does it get boring? No
Are the graphic's good? They don't matter, but when the people talk there is no facial animation for talking (not really talking though some jibber language).
Is the game play on the console controller easy? At first hard on the controller, but you get used to it.
Is the fighting action realistic and overall good? Well... it does look good, it probably isn't realistic, but it is if hit by anything the 1 of 3 units die (unless catapult or ship). Never have done navy combat though because no one gets to the galleon but me in single player.
Do the building's look good? Yeah, I had walls, stonehenge, and pyramids.
Are the different tech's you can research good? Up to about passed university if any further you have to buy the game. I just got to the Cruiser battleship (Steam Powered).
Do you get dancing bears? lmao! I think that is in the extras section, and it isn't activated so no.

you realise that's technically identity fraud, you can go away for a long time for that, or at least be banned from the PSN.

and Europe is the only 'neutral' market where they are beating the 360...so they dont' want to do something like that and alienate all their supporters.

So you want to put resources into finding each and evey person who has ever written false information in any application form? That would take ages because it happens all the time. There are so many places where you should not have to reveal all your details but they want it for some reason. I don't know about you, but most Europeans are people who just don't put up with certain stuff.

Besides, as long as you are just taking part of free content, I see no harm in it. The system is idiotic and as always its up to the people to show the "evil" corporation this.

But your statement is probably correct

i had my doubts when i saw some videos earlier this month but all looks great and the game does feel streamlined and efficient. the advisors/rival leaders popping become really irritating after a while and an option to just have a small image/name rather than filling up half the screen would be fantastic. apart from that a big thumbs up and ill definatly will be picking this game up next week(london)

it was fun, very true to the original game. it didn't really grip me to be honest, i didn't realize when all you are doing is playing the game (instead of having it in a window or something) it gets a little monotonous. I'll buy it though. i wish they added a little mp3 feature to play stuff off my hard drive.

    Likes:
    Heavy focus on city specialization
    Graphics
Map size(yes I LIKE it, makes for fast exciting games)

    Dislikes:
    Layout(seems very scattered)
Lack of info(if I go into my city view and click on buildings I would really like to know what each building is doing instead of seeing a semi-close up of it, I really can't believe this wasn't added, isnt this game supposed to be user friendly? Not displaying this info makes it kinda hard to tell exactly what is going on)
Rewards from nice villages can be semi-game breaking, especially early on

Overall though I was kinda disappointed in the demo. Mainly because I was expecting random maps so I could play nonstop, but I can see myself getting tired of this same map soon. But that wont be a problem in the real game. Good job firaxis on making a great console form of civ.

Could you expand on the layout problems?

Lack of Info comment I agree with. If I were a game reviewer I definently would ding some points off for that. Maybe it is just not in the demo? Good critisizim though, I fully agree.

Well it sometimes feels like boxes are just randomly floating everywhere. Just seems like the text boxes and what not aren't fully polished. The game looks great, but the menus/texts are overly simple and leave something to desire. Although I supposed they were going for the simplicity factor. Just my person taste haha.

Let me play some more and I'll give you a specific example.

Damn, i feel ridiculous, I feel addicted to a demo. Been playing it over and over. Civ Rev will set a revolution on the consoles. I think we will be seeing some awesome strategy games come to our widescreen flatpanels following Civ's trail.

I really hope we will see bigger games as well. I do get the fast paced style Civ Rev has but as I've been playing 6 hours in a row now I feel there is room for long hour sessions. Please add a galaxy to the next version so we can conquer more than one world, something like Civilization meets Alpha centauri

i think the demo it way to short, instead of it ending with that movie they could just have stopped time at 1250AD(at least in the multiplayer) and it would be a domination match.

  26. #26
I just didnt expect the negotiations to be like that, i mean i couldnt really demand for what i wanted... i just had to choose from a list of options how i wanted to negotiate and thats it..

I know its just something minor, but think of how its going to be when you play online with other players.....if you wanted to negotiate, your options would be limited.

How amazing would that be, they could make it so you have to deveolp faster ways of travelling through space, warp drive ( lol i have been watching to much star trek ) and then try and conquer new worlds and new Civilizations on other planets, so reather than fighting for Superiority in your own world you can aim to be like master of the universe......... But thinking about it wouldn't that be going against all Civilization traditions, although maybe that is a good thing....... What a debate you have started here 'Antwerpo'
Should the next console Civilization go Space age and cruise the universe, finding and destroying new worlds???

    your thoughts please
p.s if you like the idea it was mine, if you don't like the idea then it was Antwerpo's

There is already a game like this: Galactic Civilization II. Of course, it is not from the mighty Firaxsis, but it is an awesome game none the less and i heartily recommend it! Though PC only at the moment, though i would love to see a console version.

Yh but could you imagine how good the Graphics would be and how good the gameplay would be if somebody made a game like that on PS3 or Xbox!!! It would be out of this world!

If 2K managed to do it, or my personal favourite game designers Ubisoft managed it it would just be brilliant!
Could you imagine the multiplayer games you would have!!

( if you have only just started looking at this thread look back a few post's to see what we are on about )

I'm sure we'll get something like this at some point for consoles. Especially if Revolutions is a hit. Ever play Alpha Centauri? It was awesome and would make a great follow up to CivRev imo!

It was a Civ game that started where the Civ Alpha Centauri mission ended (Space Victory). During the journey the crew split into seven factions, resulting in a Civ game on an alien world where you researched cool stuff and could customize your units.

It was released in 1999, had one expansion, and is well overdue for a revamp imo.
