    Mafia II Wishlist

From what we have seen, we can conclude that Mafia II is going to be an fantastic game.

But there is obviously so much more that has not been revealed.

What are some things that you really want to see in this upcoming game?

One of things that I want to see are for the cars that drive on their own to go faster...it was very annoying to swerve in and out of traffic while the cars are going 5 MPH.

Another thing I would like to see is for game play to finish some cut scenes. By this, just imagine watching a cut scene with the three goons aiming at the helpless man on the floor. Then Henry kills him. I think it would be awesome to be watching that cut scene, and then it transforms into game play right before Henry kills him. I've seen this on a few games...and it's spectacular.

So what are your wishes? Post them here!

Shooting through doors would be awesome.

But...you missed what I was trying to say about the cut scenes.

Just imagine watching a cut scene...and then it breaks into game play and the characters finish the cut scene.

yea i think it will be like that or I hope...i also want the sequence of the deaths be more realistic like euphoria and not predetermined like the first mafia but i dont know there's something in euphoria that i dont like. O and also that the chatacter could go out of the car when its moving.

I'm hoping that during gameplay you can make better use of the cover system by alternating the camara between the right and left shoulder, "Uncharted: Drakes Fortune" style...
this made for far better viewing during combat and offered you better protection whilst being more realistic too, something that most games are lacking imho,
cover mode is fine but this use of the camera would make it even better.
    Please consider this 2K Czech.

Oh!... and don't forget the "Storm"... ala "A trip to the Country" mission.
the single most atmospheric mission in gaming history, all thanks to the bad weather.
that storm was fantastic, more missions like that please.

I really hope they make this game out of this world, i've been waiting for a really good mafia game theres somethings that i would like to see in this game. It looks like they got a good story down but they should really add some side stuff to do like extortion, hiring people to work for you guard businesses, and owning businesses once you start climbing ranks. Doing things to improve your businesses to generate income. So some sort of RPG element into it but not to much of it. I really want a really good mafia game i'm sure they will introduce it but these would be top of my wishlist in the game.

Exactly, the ability to invest and spend the money you make!
Businesses like a barber, restaurant, truck company, bordel, illegal casino, bookies office etc.. Buy property and ware houses and you can choose what business you put in it, drugs/alcohol/tobacco/cars etc.
Buy better homes and safehouses, house for your family and appartment for your girlfriend
Ability to steal cars/something else? and sell them somewhere.

The stupidest thing in GTA IV is that you cant even buy a car with all your money, i got sick of it soon and now im just waiting for MAFIA II and its "realism"..
The ability to have your own "soldiers", maybe you can have more when you go up in "rank"? Make some pool of gangster where you can choose them from, some maybe more skilled in killing or earning, but others more loyal.
Make the player choose and he will be hooked on the game for a long time. This RPG element would bring a lot more to play in the game "between" missions and make a difference between a great game and the best ever made.

Make "turfs" for the families and other gangs, Irish, Jews, Blacks etc.. Make them pay tribute to you when you get more powerful for exsample.

I loved the idea in the original about racing cars (Although it was just one time only). I would be nice to expand the concept a little further this time.

    Italian Mafia structure
    Capofamiglia - (Don/Boss)
    Consigliere - (Counselor/Advisor/Right-hand man)
    Sotto Capo - (Underboss/Second-in-command)
    Capodecina - (Captain/Capo)
    Uomini D'onore - ("Men of Honor"/Made men/Soldiers)

Yeah, GTA IV i played through it beat it and honestly it was fun, but i didn't like the whole hitman scene. Mafia scene is a whole lot better. The problem with GTA IV is i don't care how many people like the story it sucked... It just seemed you went around met random people and did business for them then never really got to see them again, GTA IV was 80% filler missions. Mafia 2 no matter what they do will have a better story then GTA IV. In Mafia you feel part of a family you do things that actually make sense. I really hope this game adds the ability to recruit, extort, buy, make, and customize. Recruiting gangsters have them perform a certain tasks, and giving them orders to help you make money. Your right on the style of game play i'm thinking about hitman. Those things would just bring this game to a whole new level if they did it right.

I'd really love it if I could just boot up and be a taxi driver for a few hours.

I replayed the taxi driver missions of mafia over and over and it was so much fun (if you can drive fast enough and long enough without crashing they insist that you stop the car, and when you do they get out)...

...on subsequent playthroughs, when I kind of new the route's I had to drive, that was literally one of my favourite parts of the game ("Just doing what I can to get you there...").

You could drive the taxi in freeride, but all you were given was a picture of the destination, and I could never work out where I was supposed to go...

...I really hope, if there's freeride in Mafia II or maybe just as part of the game itself, that there'll be random taxi missions which include direction arrows and marks on the map.

Sometimes it's cool just to drive a taxi for a while.

Well,I hope it would have some kind of battling system like Counter Strike,it would make the battle more fun and exciting.

Also,I wish we can do more things in Free Ride or Extreme Free Ride(These would still exist in 2,right?) Such as finding hidden packages or so

Yes,I got one. When I am in the last part of the Running Man mission.I found it was really interesting to run in these narrow streets and see the people there talking about their daily life. But when I come back in free ride ,I found these places are all not available. Also the same situation in all the other missions, some place you can enter and play in the missions but can't see it out of the mission. This is really disappointing for me.I hope this feature will change in 2

i'd like the ability to wear that army uniform and coat from the train station through the entire game.

maybe cops will suspect you less and women will swoon

Bring back the racing part of the original Mafia game on the Xbox/Playstation 2!

Back in the fifties there were really great race cars like those from Mercedes-Benz, Corvette, Jaguar, Ferrari, Lotus, etc.

Perhaps this would require too much work; but if you could have online races with pitstops, simple tyre wear and car physics (where ideal line driving matters) at least as good as in Mafia it would not only appeal the general gamers but also car enthusiast.
Online cooperative teamplay to assassinate a key figure or street fights would make interesting gameplay aswell.
Grand Theft Auto 4 has online gameplay and it really is interesting, but this is Mafia and Mafia is simply put much better.

And a suggestion for in-game traffic: Please have the NPC cars overtake eachother, and have them use turnsignals before they switch lanes or make a turn.
That would greatly add to the immersion, it also would mean the AI is more traffic oriënted so street racing becomes more of a challenge.
Probably this would require too much programming work to change the AI to properly work along these guidelines but it would definately make the game more realistic and more dynamic.

Support for clutches used on steering wheels like the Logitech G25 would be great aswell, I love the clutch in the original Mafia but it does nothing more then freewheeling.
You can't takeoff in gear by using the clutch, nor can you use clutch control so the clutch in the original Mafia was pretty much useless.

Give the player more freedom to use the functions in a car, give us the possibility to use turnsignals manually, to switch on the lights manually (and have the police fine you if you don't use lights at night to give it use) and to start the engine manually.
It does not only enrich gameplay, but it adds immersion. Something which makes the Mafia franchise so much better then Grand Theft Auto.
Interactivity is the key for an immersive game, but the 2K Czech guys know like no other.

Use as little HUD cluttering as possible, the less HUD elements in the game, the better it looks and the more immersive it will be.

**** I agree with what hitman69 says investing in fronts or legitimet businesses would be good and a source of income. And kicking (x) much of your money would give it a more mafia stlye to it. And getting guys to work for you as yu go up the ranks is a good idea ****

An understanding of anatomy is something I'm beginning to miss in games. Handycaps that are related to the specific injury. (Like you don't shoot a gun with a hand that has a bullethole in it. You don't lift the arm that hangs from a shoulder with a bullethole in it. You don't run away after getting shot in the knee. Etc. etc..) Headshots basically work in the same manner.

Maybe even going to a doctor to fix you up or treating smaller injuries yourself. Or bleed damage.

But I guess those are things that should be scalable through difficulty modes.

I would like to see some actual mafia structure. In Mafia 1 all there was the boss--Salieri. And Frank was the consigliere, sure. but i mean there were no Capos and soldiers. Sam and Paulie were most likely soldiers but I mean Tommy was never shown to be inducted. I don't know, i just would like to a little more focus towards mafia structure. I mean bosses don't usually meet with their soldiers face to face to talk about a murder. the boss tells him underboss who relays it to the capo who gives it to the soldier. I don't may be too complicated for this game and might not be what they're aiming for but i don't know, may add to the realism i think.

The 'Getaway' (or at least the first game) had this structure...more damage your character received equaled his ability to run.

It would be great if they had put a cinema in the gameplay
we could go there and relax by watching a movie
