Developers have changed the opinion?

Daniel Vavra in interview (or in what that to clause was) has told that they will not try to make too big city. It approved that now everyone try to increase the area of game space, and they will go on other way, let there will be a small city, but alive. They have changed the opinion, having told to us that the size of city of 10 square miles (it is a lot of). I shall not understand all where the truth and whom to trust, they likely have already changed many things in game

They have said the entire area of the map is 10 sqm, the original was 12 sqm.
The 10 sqm size has been officially confirmed.

So in total the map will be smaller, but with bigger urban areas then the original, about twize the size, though with less countryside.

Which interview are you refering to ?

Excuse, the guy, I has confused all... You are right the size of 12 square miles the new city Turns out that less Lost Heaven? So it and so was small, and here have made even less...

The city in the first part was about 5 sqm, the total map including the countryside was 12 sqm.

So in Mafia II there will be a map of 10 sqm with more urban areas and less countryside (if any).

Remember also that in the original there was quite a vast size of countryside that only had one road running through, so ALOT of the area would not be accessable at all.

what you are saying is that in the first part the city was 5 sqm and the countryside was 7 sqm?!?! the point is that the city is twice bigger than in the first game right? but with less countryside right? so what to worry about the country side in the first game we only used a 10% of all the countryside in the missions so for me countryside dont have to be that big....10 sqm is still a big area so dont worry about it.

Well I just read the interview at games radar to confirm everything and I'm happy.

With a city twice as large as Lost Heaven and a smaller country side sounds good to me.

I agree about the lager city but i'm still hoping there will be a chunck of country to drive through...

I think there will be some countryside but not much, I`m fine with that couse as in the original I wouldn`t want alot of space to be tied up and not accessible to the players.
