Only 18 missions
Besides in clause I have read through that in game will be only 18 missions. It not seems to you that a little? I certainly understand that main not quantity and quality, but it is possible to make subject campaign more longly. I do not abuse a mafia, I simply want that it was the worthy progenitrix
I`m not quite sure what to think to be honest, I think Mafia had about 20-21 missions I don`t remember and it felt right for me.
The confirmed multiple endings might involve some restructure on some missions far all we know since there are 3 families etc. involved in the game.
Maybe there will be 18 missions everytime you play through the game but some missions will be different depending on the multiple ending, who knows.
Since it appears that we have more stuff to do on the side as compared to the original maybe 18 missions won`t be that bad after all, besides that some missions could be really long as well.
Was "You Lucky Bastard" in Mafia 1 counted as one mission? If it was, we could get a sh*tload of missionsOriginally Posted by ArchangelX

I think there was a preview that stated the game consisted of 18 missions.
18 missions doesn't sound that bad, Im sure theres little side-quests or something like that.
all in all, i think the game will turn out roughly similar to mafia 1 was which is going to be a great thing if you ask me.
cause if the game is a 'little shorter' i wont mind to much as long as the quality of missions is high (which im sure it will be)
bottom line... from reading the 3 page interview ( http://www.gamesradar.com/pc/f/mafia...4231605004/p-1 ) i think we have NOTHING to worry about as from reading you can tell his mindset is going to produce another masterpiece of a video game.
cause me personally im quite picky on what's 'great' vs 'just another video game' sorta thing.... cause to me the VAST MAJORITY of video games are 'not worth playing' ... but there's probably around 25percent ish (maybe 30-35 percent TOPS) that are worth playing and maybe 10percent ish that are really great.... mafia is in that 'really great' category.

Myeah, I'm not bothered with 18 missions, cos I know they're meaningful, and I know that they will be tough for me cos I always play on hard, so yeah :P
Maybe will be 18 missions, but each mission will have many subquest`s. in this case the game will be much longer ...
Exactly, so it's no biggie.
like the mission of the hotel or the mission of killing morello and there will be more secondar missions so no problem..it will be like the first mafia one mission is really like 4 missions :P
that would be good if they count 18 missions without the sub quests so that
many or all of these 18 missions would have multiple acts .... that would be
fun and it would add value to the game especially after 5 to 6 years in
development ....

Exactly, "You Lucky Bastard" was huge. So hopefully all the missions on Mafia II will be huge.
how many hours are we talking about as far as finishing the main story?

WTF!! so that's like 1 hour+ for each mission
yea thats kinda small but remember that if you want to enjoy at 100% mafia 2 you will have to pass it many times to discover the diferent endings and also pass the secondary missions AAAND remember that almost all the members we are here will do stupid things like make masacre around the city so it will take you longer pass missions so it will be more time enjoing mafia 2

Not like GTA IV 90 missions, 10 of which were really nice the other just pointless.

The first Mafia, had a screenplay of 400 pages, opposed to the 700 of Mafia 2
So it will be much longer for sure.

MAFIA GAME(I THINK WITHOUT SECONDARY MISSIONS I THINK THAT IT LONGS 20 HOURS WITH SECONDARY MISSIONS) COMPARED TO THE 25 HOURS OF THE MAFIA 2 GAME IS A REAL REAL DIFERENCE OF TIME SO IM HAPPY OF THIS
