    Apollo Wonder is overpowered

All these wonders are and seem nices but i found that Apollo Wonder is overpowered because it give you ALL the technologies you have not discovered...

Its overpowered "à moins que" the wonder is coming very late in the game...

Guessing that i'm retarded in technology, i took this wonder by war and miraculously you have all the technologies of the game "auquel cas" i do not say "no"

What do you think of that thing, peoples ?

The Apollo Wonder can only be constructed AFTER discovering spaceflight, which is the technology you need to build your spacecraft and win the game. It costs almost 4 times as much as other wonders, and will also (obviously) divert the producing city from making any spacecraft components.

Just wanted to give you a bit more insight into where this particular wonder falls.

The only Wonder I see that is overpowered is the Pyramids. As you can use the Republic to quickly build a empire with settlers costing only 1 population point, and then switch to communism to quickly turn out wonders.

Does Egypt start with the Pyramids or is there wonder random. If Egypt starts with the Pyramids then I think they are going to be the most powerful Civ in the game.

The most worthless wonder is without a doubt the Great Wall. It sucks a$$, and is basically totally worthless.

You are saying this as though you know how everyone plays. Civilization is a strategy game .. meaning that people who play usually have, or develop, a strategy (or several). What you are saying may be how YOU plan on playing the game, however other people may have something else in mind. And I can assure you that what you suggest would have crossed the devs' minds. I'd be willing to put $1000 on the table saying that there are at least 5 counter-strategies to the one you've suggested here Like Lenny said, just wait and see.

The Egyptian wonder is not always the pyramids. It varies randomly through a couple different ones from the early stages.

it makes any enemy at war with you declare peace when its built, if the peace lasts not long then its rbbish, if they peace is very long then its too powerful, so dunno if its gonna be a good wonder yet or not.

The Great Wall seems like a single player wonder where the idea is to simulate that they are giving up.

I was surprised to see the Military-Industrial Complex listed as a Wonder. Everything else on the list was something built by scientists/engineers; the Complex is something formed more through politics and economic policy than any feat of construction. Honestly, it feels better suited as one of Civ4's Economic civics than a Wonder.

Speaking of the Military-Industrial Complex, what precisely is its benefit? I'm guessing that it reduces needed production by a percentage like the old Police State civic; if so, what percentage does it give?

    The Military-Industry Complex
War can be so pricey these days. Shrink your budget for battle down to something manageable with the Military-Industry Complex, which reduces the cost of all units for its builder.

Nope it doesn't say anything at all about having production costs.

On Deity it reduces the cost of units by 20%. Not sure if the %age is different on other levels.

I have had Hanging Gardens Available with Egypt. That helps to start with a 3 pop (science, hammer, food) on opening move. Oh, and not to mention having that in a desert region.

The levels are only for the AI handicap. For example on emperor they have 20% handicap (-20% of hammers, food, beakers needed) and on deity 40% handicap. Wonders have nothing to do with leves.

You said you have 15 years and don't know these things

However then I don't remember about the italy but it should be at least 1/3 of the culture of the world. But I'm not sure, it could be 2/3, I don't remember it but romans have built a lot of wonders, also in other states, for example in England, don't know the name in english but in italian that's "Vallo di Adriano" and that was a great wall.

you know that culture isnt tangible, right? you cant calculate culture.

but if you could, america would easily have the most. have you heard of americanization? i have. however, i have never heard of italianization, greecification, chinesification, arabification, or any other *insert country name here*ification or ificazation. i dont hear of people going to war with italy because italian culture is changing the way of life of others. (american culture infultrating arab life, leading to them to fly some airplanes into some buildings (war)).on top of that, we have many wonders. we have the golden gate bridge, grandcanyon, that big ass volcano at yellowstone, the artic national wildlife preserve, the badlands, the apollo 13, and the best military on the planet.

if you think that any one has more culture than america,YOU ARE WRONG. yeah, im talking to you, europians.

Ok, you talk as that because you are american, but the best wonders of this world, I mean old wonders were romans. Surely roman's culture is the best of the world or is 1/3 of more of this world. With culture I mean wonders and not firstly the culture we get from you, etc..

Ok, but you should understand that romans were the best of the world (I'm not saying that because I'm italian), they had a huge empire, the BEST (not biggest) of the world and hard to dominate, really good generals, and huge wonders and buildings (without them it would be difficult to other to learn something).

PS: Napoleon was Italian, if you like the history you should know that, only he studied french because at that time it was normal.

"Napoleone Bonaparte" is an italian name, also, and his parents were italian.

i do like history, and i did know that, but he is more thought to be more of the french side....well alexander magnos empire was twice the romans empire, and the mongols had a 4 times bigger empire...

the only thing weird about the french is their military, from what i know they arent that good, i'm mexican and on may 5 we celebrate a war won, the mexicans defeated the french, the french at the time had the second best military, right after england, and they attack a little town/ranch, and mexicans with rocks and sticks beat them, its really good for the mexicans, but poor french,

and in the hundred year war, the french had 10,000! knights, back then, they were like tanks.....againt 500 longbow archers, and the french lost, they spent a lot of money building all the materials necesary for the knights...food, metals, equipement, its like how you say hammers lost building spies....

i still havent learn about the french revolution though...i want to

...but you make a good point with the romans...

Ok, you haven't read totally my post because I said THE BEST and not the biggest (you can see that over my post). Mongols didn't have the best empire, english or Alexander, a huge empire maybe but it was where there were not so many threats (as barbarians in europe).

Without romans there wouldn't be civs as french, english, germans, spanish, etc.. And you should know that.

    ur right

    dont forget the greeks....

but then the romans left their capital un protected, and it was taken over, shame...

did i ever tell you, that in the hundred year war, the french lost to englands longbow archers, and then a few years later they made a treaty to be at peace (Treaty of troyes), at this moment france had little cities, even their capital was taken over, so the english and french signed it, [B]but[B] the English king henry v got to rule over england and france, months later henry v dies and has a child, henry vi, he was 9 months old, and he the baby was the only one left to take the throne, so a baby of 9 months got to rule over 2 powerful countries, then the french took their cheap shot, and recovered all their land.....lol
