You work for 2K, don't you?

If your PC can run it well, webbo, get the PC version. The mouse beats the controller for FPS, you can download savegames if you get stuck, and there's a whole lot of modding possibilities.

    I'm taking the 360 version

    Adding to list:
    360 pros:
    - force feedback
    - easier to switch between powers/weapons etc due to placing of button comparitive to stretching for keyboard buttons (very arguable point I think )
    - easier patching and no installing so no chance of "compatibility issues"

    cons:
    - more chance of red ring of death on your console than there is of "compatibility issues" with your computer

I asked this in my first post a long time ago but I'll ask again, does anyone know if Bioshock using all 3 cores of the 360 does something special? Like better water effects or physics or something?
One of the 360's cores is a dedicated physics processor.

Am I the only person who preferes a controllers to a keyboard/mouse while playing an FPS. WHile I find the menus harder to navigate I like the movement better.

No, all 3 are generic cores that can be used for any function. The 360 does not have any kind of dedicated physics processor whatsoever.

Damn no edit function. Now if you meant "one of the cores has been dedicated to physics processing", then maybe you're on to something. But your wording was ambiguous.

Yeah, I read somewhere that it has been and I thought they meant it was built as a dedicated phyics processor.

    Xbox 360:

    Pros:

    * Bigger screen in most cases
True Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound
    Achievments

    Cons:

    * Not Full DirectX 10
Lots of people prefer mouse and keyboard for FPS
    More expensive to buy

    PC

    Pros:

    * Better Graphics with DX10
    Mouse and Keyboard
    Cheaper to buy

    Cons:

    * No Achievments
    Smaller Screen in Most cases
    No Dolby Digital

I still can't descide what version to buy because my PC is good enough to play Bioshock at Very high settings, and I have a 360 on my 26" Samsung. ITS A PAIN LOL

    Lawl pwnt!!

I know it's late but I just had to make that point. Sorry if someone else already did. And on PC you might be able to make and download mods too.

No, thats the Cell. One of its SPEs is used for physics. The 360's cores can be used for most anything, though the Blade OS uses one on its own. I'm not positive if it fully uses the core all time, or if other processes can be run on it though. A game could be coded so that physics are fully used by just one core and the other core(s) do everything else.

    booya.

i never got into the modding craze when i actually had a PC that was decent, but still i envy those who will inevitably get their hands on a version modded to stick it to the ESRB.

It's cheaper than buying it for my 360
I can use my 5.1 speakers on my PC
    Mouse/Keyboard obviously
Can fraps cool stuff and share it.

I have a 360 and I recently upgraded my PC literally about 4 days ago so this is why I switched to the PC version.
They are the same reasons I am getting the PC version.

I should be able to run it maxed out in DX10, What do you think:

My PC has Vista Ultimate 64bit:
    -Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 @ 2.42GHz
    -2GB Kingston DDR2 667 (Dual Channel)
    -320MB BFG 8800GTS OC

I can either run my PC through my 19" Widescreen Acer Monitor at 1440x900. Or run it through my 26" Samsung HDTV at 1360x768. I have my PC hooked up to my Logitech Z-5500 5.1 system. Do you think it will run it MAXED out?

    PC version :
    Pros:
-/***The very first and crucial advantage : Moding.***\: check

    - HDTV or LCD monitor : check

    - Gamecontroler with force feedback (logitech) OR (my favourite for fps)
    Mouse+Keyboard.: check

    - Higher resolution and better looking in DX10 :check

    - way cheaper compared to the xbox version ( in my country an xbox game is 15-25 Euros more expensive than the PC version. Buy 10 games a year and there you go you saved 150-250 Euros for your brand new vidcard each year-after you sell the old one ofc) : check

    - Dolby Digital with 5+1,6+1 or 7+1 speakers config. -expensive but worth the trouble: check

    Cons:Expensive to start with.

    Xbox360 :

Pros: -Way way cheaper if you don`t spend the money for a big HDTV
-Mobilty (as in go far away take the Xbox to play

Cons: too many for my taste

My first post ,registered today and i am realy realy looking forward to play Bioshock !

Dunno the card has only 320mb of memory that could be a downside with all eye candy on, and its vista.. its not quite mature and stable yet.

Nothing wrong with Vista at all, if you read the FAQ from the PC developers of Bioshock they already said you can run the game in DX10 (Vista) with better graphical features that DX9 doesn't have without losing FPS.

Only downside with Vista is the nVidia/ATi drivers, they have some work left on them BUT they are still pretty good, not that big a performance loss between XP-Vista now.

Anyway I think a 320MB will be pushing it a bit, since quite a few games use well over 256MB of VRAM (DiRT, Stalker)

Still I reckon you can manage it, just about not sure if you'll be able to run it higher than say 1440x900 too well though.

Not really an advantage if your friends all have spare monitors or HDTVs with VGA.

At 14x9 you shouldn't have any problems. Unless Vista x64 causes its own problems with immature drivers. I know some drivers on x64 are still a mess, but it shouldn't really be an issue.

I run DiRT at 14x9 with everything on and up to the "high" setting without a single framerate hitch and I have a 320. I haven't tried playing with the Ultra settings yet though.

Actually, other way round. Pro PC: Smaller screen equals better quality
Con XB360 is the big screen degrades graphical quality, because it's more spread out.

Thats only for SD images and tube TVs. With HD images there is no known size limit, as long the projection device is able to fill the screen well enough. You're kind of behind the times here, WAY behind the times. This has been common knowledge for well over a decade now.

No option here (PC sucks), but I'm a console gamer. The only games I've ever truly played on PC were Diablo II, the Sims, and FFXI. I plan on buying a new comp for Spore, however.

Just bought a new 37 inch LCD HDTV (Sharp Aquos) specifically for BioShock.

same, people here go on about how much "Cheaper" an xbox 360 is compaired to the PC but they dont factor in the 3 or 4 thousand dollars for a "good" HD TV where you spend that on a really awesome pc with a tv tuner card

Yay! Anyway, I chose Xbox 360, because I like the feel of a controler, I don't want to have anything interfearing with BioShock (downloads, space, compatibility, ect.), and I like to play on my couch. I know that I will miss out on some great things, like mods, specialized controls, a better system for aiming, ect. But my prefferance is for the 360. Simple as that.

I have played FPS on both PC and 360, and I love both of them. I just like 360 a little bit more.

Australian dollars, ok. Thought you meant US currency. Its really confusing when two different places use the same currency, yet their values are so radically different.

I didn't "try" to call you anything. If I wished to call you a moron I would have done so directly and in such a way that you would not have to read between lines. I don't put hidden meanings in my words. I believe in sharing my opinion in exactly the way I think it, there forth I am very direct and do not like to beat around the bush too often.
