Obviously you've never seen family guy. (Guess you can't get it unless you've heard it before.)

The episode Emission Impossible, with Lois's sister giving birth, I've seen it. Just a general comment on the grossness of the joke.

Absinthe is gross, black licorice tasting slop. Of course I still have my spoon ate cake with it about a month ago lol.

    Grazie...paesā?[/QUOTE]

Born in US, lived in Ireland, England, Oz, Norway, China, Korea. Dishwashed in Rome, and all over. I just happened to have a few diaries that mentioned that being said when friends had kids. I remember that PART of it means "Congratulations", but can't remember the rest. "Great", "Good" "Many"?

She's very cute. The mother must be beautiful. You're a lucky man.

No Speech; Torquemada just asked me where I was from ("paesā"). It's the only answer I can give.

As for the rest of it about mother and child. Just an opinion..

    Thanks a lot, I am.

"Congratulazioni" is the tipical words to be said to parents of just born kids and it usually goes by itself, without adjectives.
You can say also a generic "auguri" (wishes) and you can add "tanti" before (many wishes)
