This Flash is HORRIBLE!!!!

1. In the Civilizations tab (which for some unknown reason has to download the video for each leader, but then fails to launch it), once the video is launched I am bombarded with text about each leader that is so frickin smallI feel like I need reading glasses.
2. Not to mention, that is one of the most illegible fonts ever. Some letters seem to mesh together. Could be my monitor and resolution settings are just whacked, then again, could be you just have a horrible font setup, probably set to Bold, no doubt. Is there a way to turn it off? Hmm.... Why do I doubt it?
3. And why not post light blue font on a dark blue background? Great for large portions of text, right? WRONG!!!
4. Let's add animation to the mix, so while you're trying to read the long, boring text, your eyes will be yanked away constantly by the Animation of the leader doing something annoying, over and over again.
5. Ghost out the button to back out of the video, and kill the button to link back to the Civilization page, so the user will likely close the website just to get out of this flash page. Again and again!
6.Why is there no link or popup showing each of the civilization's special abilities? Am I blind? Is it there somewhere?
7. Where is the RELEASE DATE!?!?!?WTF?!?!?!

hey there,

i'm sorry you don't like some of the design choices to the site, but i can help you with other parts!

first, you can find out basic information about each civilization by clicking the "Civilizations" tab in the header, then scrolling through each leader. also, you can go into the "Community" tab. I have released a bunch (but not yet all) of more focused features on leaders and their civilizations.

as for release date, the game is coming out in Europe for 360 and PS3 on June 13th, and on all platforms in the US and Canada on July 8th.

let me know if you have any other questions!

On my computer it is completely fine, perhaps its the display settings on your computer? Also, do you have the most up to date flash player?

Must be your monitor because they contrast quite nicely and is very easy to read.

God forbid they add something to a FLASH website that makes it interesting . . . relax man.

5. Ghost out the button to back out of the video, and kill the button to link back to the Civilization page, so the user will likely close the website just to get out of this flash page. Again and again!
No comment because I have no idea what you are talking about.

6.Why is there no link or popup showing each of the civilization's special abilities? Am I blind? Is it there somewhere?
This information can be found somewhere in the forums or other forums. I don't see why that is important info as of right now . . .

7. Where is the RELEASE DATE!?!?!?WTF?!?!?!
This probably should be posted somewhere on the website, but really man . . . RELAX.

If you are going to complain about something that took quite a few manhours to make you could atleast do it with a little tact and respect. Most of your complaints are legitimate but can hardly be taken seriously because of your tone. Lets try to be civil.

Relax, look up some of this info on your own. It will all be ok.

I'll just sneak in with my message to you all. Stop with flash sites, they are evil and bad, interrupting the information flow.

There's nothing particularly bad about Flash sites. It's a simple user preference -- some people like them, some people don't. That being said, it's usually good practice to have a Flash site and a non-Flash site, but website budgets can sometimes get in the way of accomplishing that.

From a usability standpoint, it's not really a big issue. According to the data from the sites I manage at work, 98% of all of the users have some version of Flash installed (and we're talking industrial supply equipment websites here, these people aren't exactly on the cusp of new technology).

Usually, Flash use in moderation is the key to making (almost) everyone happy.

7. The only thing I'd like is for it to remember that I MUTED the website when I visit it again. As much as I love the sound effects of the site, it just gets annoying when it starts playing over the song I've currently got on, and then I have to wait for the 'music on/off' button to load before I can turn it off.

Flash can be used as a powerful tool. Sites that are fully made in flash are just plain stupid in my opinion. Every time I go to civilizationrevolution.com, 5+ seconds is wasted just to load the system. I go to the site for information, not loading times.

Take another look at http://www.soulcalibur.com

Should it be like this? Why can't I just simply click a button directly and get to my information. You can make beautiful sites without using flash. I'm usually interested in the product itself, not its website.
