Welcome, it is a wonderful May 17, and it is time for The Stream.
In our Bioshock News coverage today, we have a first time look at what Bioshock was before its official release. Take a look at this video and see how Neptune's Bounty differed from what you see now.

And as we all know, 2K Marin is producing Bioshock 2 and we are all still anxious to see the opening of 2kmarin.com. There is still no set opening date of the 2K Marin website but it will be soon.
And we have some very interesting news....
It has become official that Bioshock 2 will become a prequel which is what I certainly was hoping for. If you don't believe me, check out this article below ...

Czech gaming site Hrej.cz posted new information about Bioshock 2 which comes from some unnamed source within 2k Games. According to the source Bioshock 2 is now in pre-production phase and 2k plans to release it in summer 2009. According to Hrej at this stage of development they are trying to focus on storyline and graphic design. The plot will be set BEFORE events from original game. So it looks like Bioshock 2 will be a prequel and we will witness more about the fall of underwater utopia...
Very exciting indeed.

This you are reading describes the stupid world of Bioshock, and today I thought I might start from a perspective of maturity.
Every since time began, our intelligence has increased, our speech became more appropriate, we were taught table manners and the values of life. But ever since the...., lets say 40's, the world, (esp. America) hit a wall, and our brains started to drain. People lost their values, dresses became jeans, shirts became hoodies. Everything collapsed, mostly during the hippie age. And even though technology still reaches new heights, the general public still becomes more and more idiotic. Thats why certain people need to stay away from certain games like Bioshock and especially GTA. We have a rating system for a reason but it does not stop even 70% of the populace from getting the game they want. So the under aged become influenced, they grab a gun and/or car and have a blast. Bioshock is a great game, but it does influence in bad ways. Now I am not saying it influences us all, some of us are mature and know that this is not real, and these are the smart people in the stupid world of Bioshock.

Well the news is pretty cool but, we knew it was going to happen before or after the first game...and it turns out that the 50% chance it would be a prequel was right. I am very happy but the news isn't that big...Im glad you posted it though THANKS!

Lets get right down to it.
I have been wanting to scream bout this in an appropriate thread for months! Why did the Bioshock endings (both of them) suck so farging bad? The bad ending was especially horrendous. It lacked so much detail and did not foreshadow at all. It left you guessing to something you would never know because now we know that Bioshock 2 is going to be a prequel! Either the 2K gang just got lazy or ran out of time, because when I finished the game I actually said, "What the Hell?"
The bottom line is that they could have put much more effort into these short, uninteresting endings.

Honestly I said the same thing after finishing the game, that is after catching my breath from laughing at the little sisters stabbing fiesta, but I was assuming it would be a prequel because in making a sequel they would have to choose the good or bad storyline to follow. Ken makes it very clear in all of the demo movies, interview, and other media that Bioshock is a game of choice...and in forcing a player to follow a storyline they didn't want to follow would be against what this game was made to do. If the endings would have been the same, but with some differences in how Jack acted they could have picked up a sequel more easily.

Well I was just going to get rid of this one and make a Stream News thread, but for some unknown God foresaken reason, BioshockWins, the thread closing master, closed it. I am still waiting for him to read my very angry PM
yeah, i know what you mean, he's already closed one of mine. I was PMing him about it to wonder why. And after i stated my reasons, he said stuff back, then i said my best reason and he replied: If you don't accept it, and leave me alone, you're going to get a temp. ban. Now WTF IS THAT!?!?!?!?
Maybe we should talk to 2k Elizabeth.
Maybe you should accept that he's doing his job.
Maybe he is overdoing his job and is hitting that Close button to quickly
