If BioShock II is a sequel, what are some ideas for it?

Here are my ideas incase it is a sequel..which I hope it is.

I think that you arrive to Rapture from a different direction, for another award winning opening. This time you dock on the other side of the broken utopia. Now, you will be in a different part of the city, and face new challenges and new enemies. Here are a few of my ideas.

    Ideas for 3 new enimies

    ***LEPRECHAUN SPLICERS***

These splicers had used a shrink plasmid, originally designed to shirnk a splicer so they could get into the vents and go after the little sisters, but the antidote was destroyed after the civil war, so now these splicers live in the vents. You must be very careful not to stray too close to the vents. These very dangerous splicers are called Leprechaun splicers (because they are small and collect loot), and they could emit a powerful eletrical jolt. They speicialize in looting dead splicers, and are rarley seen outside their vents. However, if you can sneak up on one while it is looting and catch it, it will give you the loot if you let it go (like a leprecahn would in Irish fables). Mabey it will remember you if you run accross it later in the game, and even help you!

    ***PASSIVE SPLICERS***

Also, there could be another new type of splicer that does not attack you, and if you move close to it it might say "what the hell are you looking at?", or something like that, called the passive splicer. If you decide to attack it, it will fight you like any other splicer. But if you do not, then you take a risk. Some of them might attack you from behind...but some of them will not attack you, and even help you later on if you run across it later in the game! Giving us a new twist on AI like that could be very revolutionary.

    ***ZOMBIE SPLICERS***

And of course I have already explained the dreaded zombie splicers. These could be seen in one part of Rapture (one level only), where a scientist was working on a plasmid to bring the dead to life. The result: zombie plasmid. The story could be that Ryan warned against research of such a plasmid, but the scientest continued development anyway since this was just after the civil war of '59, and he wanted protection against hostile splicers that might stray to his part of Rapture. However, when you arrive you discover through audiologs that the zombies turned on him, and now terrorize the level. It could be the most horrifying level in the game.

These 3 ideas would work good in a sequel IMO, although some of you might think they sound silly. This thread is for any ideas for a sequel, wether it is enemies, or level design, or story, or whatever. So, anyone else have any ideas of what a good sequel should look like?

    It's serious.

I mean everybody has been screamin about a prequel, as if there is nothing fresh that could be offered for a sequel. I am trying to point out that there are MORE possibilities with a sequel than a prequel. Almost anything could be created for a sequel, and all kinds of new story-lines could evolve. And besides, all good FPS have zombies...

I think that the movie will cover a prequal and before Jack came back, and Bioshock 2 will be a sequal.

But a MMO would be amazing!

Just think you could choose to be on Ryan or Fontaine's side, see more of Rapture than any other game could show in a realistic manner (a FPS can't show you a whole world without boring you at some point) an MMO would make Rapture real! I mean you would be a citizen of the city! I can't imagine making the thousands of items most MMO's have, or Boss battles. But it would be amazing!

IF the BAD ending is the game's sequal: Jack arrives to New york smiling at the sight and then causing chaos with his superfied adam filed body and sploicers, then a view of th lincoln monument with a thrown placed where lincoln once sat and now mainly destroyed and humiliated, Jack laughs as it shows the city changed into some sort of consentration camp. You hear jack say something about how he does have a purpose ect. Then it shows teninbaums view.

She is talking about how she had DNA of Jack and created a child after him to fight since there was no one to go to who could possibly fight Jack, it shows a timeline of both, showing the world outside getting worst, with other countrys being invaded, and failed airstrikes and other attacks against Jack, Sploicer scientist's were taking children to make into the little sisters ect. finally the main character is to set off to fight Jack given information on a organization to go to for plans to stop Jack and change things back, the group wear suites much like the bigdaddys but more man sized and less bulky.

Mainly calm and trying to save people by leaving in squads to snatch people and hospitalize to whatever they can to make them more human again instead of insane villains, the group is somehow connected to tinnenbaum ect and the maincharacter works with them, while there is 3 other groups after you, one is of a mafia group who offers weapons ect. another is a religious group who offer information and possible plasmids, and the third is an unknown group who offer everything but will not speak of who they are.

While the character is ment to stay for the good ending with the Scientist group you can choose others. The goal is mainly getting info, saving people unless there unsavable, and finding a weapon that no evil could withstand. Mainly fighting sploicers to mutated animals, a biker gang that use chainsaw staffs, other citizens that have made cults or just plain insane killers. A twist ending of course one with Andrew Ryan, another with little sissters, ect.

I stopped reading after "Tanenbaum creates a child of Jack to fight Jack."

    No... just... no.

I would rather have leprechauns and zombies rather than any of the above quoted material.

Also... NO sequal, prequal, or ANYTHING not set miles underwater.

On threat of me hitting someone with a wrench.

Ah that people is why I'm really glad community suggestions never make it!

No offense buddy the ideas are VERY original and well thought of (although why would Fontaine Futuristics release a plasmid that would kill his own Little Sisters?), but I just don't think dwarfs and zombie's fit in Rapture.

Well it could be a fresh twist lol . Just think, if a sequel took place on the other side of Rapture, you could be a new arrival (so you would not be jack), and there wouldnt be a need to "explain" what happened at the end of BioShock I. It could be a new world really. The story could be that the little sisters traveled to the other side of the city to be close to Tennenbaum years before, so your side of the city has no little sisters anyway, no matter how the last Bioshock ended. There could still be big daddies...mabey they roam around by themselves and attack if you get too close. Or mabey the protect these "dwarfs" I was talking about that now live in the vents. I don't know, I'm just saying that a whole new story could emerge you know?

I do agree that no matter what we come up with, it is unlikely to influence anything that 2K Marin is working on....

Another Idea could be that Rapture had someone higher then Andrew Ryana who had another rapture, his though is only just begining to go insane, your a new arrival and you enter welcomed and greeted to go eat at a welcome dinner party for all new arrivals, while there you see Bigdaddys that were cancled and those we have seen working on rapture outside.

While the announcer is greeting everyone he calls your character up to introduce you (it would seem your character is more important then the rest) an applause of excitement is heard forcing you to not hear your name only the statement "Would you kindly give MR. (insertname) (cheering)".

Suddenly a group arrives wearing fine cloths and having there arms crossed, Your character starts to panic when bullets are fired and the large and thick glass roof collapses with a submarine crassing through it slamming onto a large portion of the audience.

You turn to see this mafia group helping each other up and one in particulare crouched over with a pissed off look, he pulls out a walter ppk and takes aim but a bigdaddy arrives with security bots at the site of the weapon that a securit camera spoted, you climb on stage do to the flooding and help up the announcer up where he attempts to help get you and others to safety but mainly you, then the game begins. Thats all I could think of really so far since I just thought of it heh this is fun.

LOL. If 3 years ago I told you there would be a game that takes place in an underwater city with big monsters in diving suits walking around with little girls that have orange eyes, what would you of said?

If Bioshock 2 is gonna be a follow up I think you are pretty close my friend. I can't see no other way then to show other parts of rapture that Jack just didn't visited (cause he was going only for Ryan to get out if you look at it).

There is also a rumor that Bioshock 2 could taken place on land at the factories where all stuff is build to be shipped down to Rapture, nothing official though as this rumor was aired after an art student showed his project online.

Yeah, it would have to take place on the other side of the city, a part almost cut off from the rest of Rapture mabey.

Mabey Fontaine didn't release the plasmid. Mabey another enemy of Fontaine that we do not know about yet did...and mabey this other "enemy" is the boss we would fight at the end of BioShock II How about that for some story?!

And the zombies...well on that level you would have to use the zombie plasmid on yourself at one point, so you could turn into a zombie and fool the other zombies and get by them...

You see what I mean? (even if it does sound a bit silly)

    Ideas, ideas...hmm, let's see.

How about the prequel to Bioshock "Fall of Rapture" begins something like with Andrew Ryan giving a huge speech to a big audience in the center of the city about the accomplishments of Rapture and a dream come true. You are of course somewhere in the background, totally disrupted by a little girl who's calling up to her mother of not being able to see. You make your way through the crowd to get some fresh air. While Ryan's going on about the success of the city, there's an explosion just meters left of you which throws you into the nearby canal system. The screen goes black. You later awake in the sewers, shaken up. You feel the need to pick up a wrench which you use later to open a gate that leads out of the sewers. As you exit the sewers and arrive at the center of Rapture, you see a gruesome image. There are buildings totally destroyed, but most importantly, there are dead people lying around the place. Some of the people appear to be fighting against each other. It looks like a city in chaos. There's one person which starts running at you and appears to want to kill you. You of course are fully on scarred for you life and use your wrench to knock the person to the ground. Most importantly, you see the person fall with more than 30fps. To your horror, the person appears to have mutated in some way. Also some of the dead people lying around appear to have mutated. You immediately check yourself out and appear not to have been affected to whatever happened to the other folks. From here on you make your way through the city to search for answers and hopefully a way to the surface.

Not bad for a start eh?

Well what you are describing would more than likely be a prequel which although rumored is headed to be confirmed but makes no sense as a sequel.

Aside from that I like the idea, it sounds like a fun game but it doesn't sound like a Bioshock game other than characters. Also I hope there are no sewer levels.

I know, it could be a prequel and we see Rapture in its glory while its thriving. Jack will have a job at the city core and we see him rotating gears or something. I know... he could be a mechanic and he goes around with his wrench fixing things in Rapture.

Of course, there will be thousands of NPC's and most of the game could consist of a bunch of conversations since Rapture is thriving and everything and it's 'before the fall.' Then we can see a bunch of scripted sequences with people trying out new plasmids for the first time. A few more levels can go by with conversations and fixing machinery, and then people start going crazy.

The last level can consist of the fall of Rapture and then Jack gets a Tommygun. The END. Yes, a prequal is a GREAT idea, so much fun and a great haunting atmosphere since everything would be brightly lit and everything is in pristine working order. NPC's will be all over the place with friendly people to talk to. We all know that these things creates a great atmosphere.

Geez, Blue Lightning is the only one in this place with a clue. It's gotta be a sequel and a different section of Rapture. A new adventure with a different lead character. Maybe they can start on a cruiseliner that gets bombed and it starts sinking and you swim out of the vessel and come across a different entry point.

Wait, wait, wait. How about this idea. Bioshock 2 starts with some type of flashback with Jack on the Bioshock 1 side of Rapture. He gets some type of warning about This other section of Rapture that has been condemned long ago from something even more sinister and should not be accessible. This is where the new arrival comes in for Bioshock 2. This other, weirder, more sinister side of Rapture. Maybe there is a more aggressive, bigger, badder psycho type of Big daddy prototype that runs rampant.

This short intro flashback to Bioshock 1 explaining a bit of this forbidden zone could be quite freaky before your arrival to this section of Rapture

*EDIT* Another idea could be that this other side of Rapture was condemned because the technology was older and outdated and we see 1920's or 1930's decor in this condemned area. Yet, splicers sought this area and decided to re-establish some twisted society in this new area. Ideas to ponder...

LOL Of course! He can fix things and have lunch breaks with Rapture citizens! lololol

Yeah, it is what I have been saying all along...a "prequel" wouldn't even be BioShock anymore.

Now that's an idea! That's what I'm talking about, some fresh ideas that would make a sequel very interesting. You and I are probebly not too far off with the stuff we are talking about. If it is a sequel, it will be interesting to see which of our ideas will most closley match what we end up getting. But your next idea is is the best of all:

I LOVE IT! That's the way to go for 2K right there! In other words we know that Rapture was complete in 1946, so it must of been started long before that. Perhaps in the 1920's. This would open up a whole can of worms. In that section of Rapture, the spooky "off limits area", it would be 1920's decor and the writings and posters in 1920's font. Posters of women with the short "bob" hair style and the bell hats...and the music would be from the 20's, which could add even more eerieness to the atmosphere! Mabey we wander into a movie theater there, and a silent picture is running... That section could be at least one level, and we would see things not seen anywhere else in Rapture!

When I talked of the horrifying "zombie level" (including the gatheres garden machine with the little sister statues having wicked smiles on their face and rotton teeth), I was trying to create the same feeling that your talking about with your "20's level". A level that is even weirder than the rest of Rapture...I mean, so off the wall.

good, I'm glad we were finally able to shoot this idea of a prequel in the head and put it to rest. It's as if you dont' even know what you're asking for. You're requesting blandness with this ridiculous prequel fetish.

Ok, so Bioshock is about the 20's and 30's and Blue Lightning...I love the idea of a silent film theatre. That is very fitting! Then, Bioshock 3 (since they are planning a series) could revolve around a futuristic portion of Rapture that was never unveiled to the public since things started going nuts, but the 'new' Rapture is in working order. This new Rapture is based on silly futuristic 'World Of Tomorrow' propaganda that was rampant in the 1950's, like robots that washed your dishes, toaster ovens that retract into the cupboard, tv's that you had to enter coin money into to view (a very real issue at one point in history), just wacky 50's mentality futuristic ideas can breathe some creativity in a future Bioshock

Guys, Bioshock 2 has been confirmed a prequel from a press release form within 2k. They have released information that they are currently in the Pre-Planning stage and the plot has been set events before Bioshock. So it is a prequel.

Lightning, watch your mouth. I know for a fact that it will be a prequel and no body said you had to trust me. And I don't care if you do or not. But Bioshock 2 will be a prequel.

Watch my mouth? You must be kidding me.

It isn't about trust. When a piece of information is presented about an upcoming game by a player, that player has a responsibility to provide some kind of conformation. Otherwise, the "new information" is only speculation at best, and shouldn't be taken seriously.

He's right, Doc. Just because you have Dr. in your name it doesn't give you any special authority, and he has the right to ask you, considering it IS his thread about a sequel.

    That aside, YAY. PREQUEL.

Would everyone please observe subject 2A. Please observe how Blue Lightning asked for proof. He asked in a snotty, jerky tone. Perhaps if he had been a bit more kind, I would have provided him with the actual link. Even if he didn't mean it, the tone he set was uncalled for.

No, he didn't, not really. You can only say that if he had SAID it, not typed it. And you really do need a link, otherwise it is merely your word, however much people choose to believe that.

And wangho, there are no ramifications. All the facts point a prequel (and so does the money).

wrenchmaster, I am not sure when you entered the conversation, but you are a very opposing force. Now we could argue all day about this, but lets not. You agree that it will be a prequel as do I. Lightning, it is not going to be a sequel, it has already been confirmed a prequel. I do not remember where I saw this because it was a very long time ago. And that right there is enough said. If anyone brings this up again, then you are way to argumentative.

so you're the only one that is privy to this information? Other Bioshock fans aren't in 'the know.' I'm betting that what you read is not official and came from an unreliable source.

Wrenchmaster, that is just BS. A prequel destroys the ambiguity that a game like this thrives on. That's like finally finding out what the space jockey in Alien was doing on LV-426 and going to it's homeworld. There's more to a great story than just 'story.'

    And?

Oh...ok. Since you say it is, that's good enough I guess.

But since I disagree, and since this thread is about a "possible sequel", would you kindly...well, you know what I mean.

This has nothing to do with your crediability. I'm sure your a credible person. But mabey you heard about a prequel from someone, and that person was making it up, or mabey the website you read said something about a possible prequel and you read it out of context, or mabey a dozen other things, you see? Not backing up information with some factual confermation cannot be taken seriously. If people accepted new information without any backup, then trolls would invade the forums and make up all kinds of stuff.

like I have stated before, a prequel would be highly unlikley, since no FPS game has done a prequel since "Spear of Destiny" (1992). So, would you like to share some ideas about what a sequel might be like (if it turns out to be a sequel), or would you rather abandon this thread? Please pick one.

    Thanks.

That doesn't make any sense. 1, we don't know the full story, 2, there's a huge open area for a new and exciting gameplay experience, 3, a lot of people want a sequel, and the producers would want to make people happy so they buy it, 4, the first site to claim they knew of a prequel before it was officially confirmed stated it would be a prequel.

It was never confirmed! If you would like to disscuss a possible prequel, then please make a thread about it. This thread is about a possible sequel.

EDIT: A prequel would be a disaster in my opinion. And I'm being serious.

Why discuss a possible sequel if its going to be a prequel?
