If you wish a perfect game...

    Then don't rush it !
Take all the time you need to finish it !

I see people coming : "When will it be done ?" "Release date ???" "Where's hte demoz ?" and all that sort of things.

I also can remember the first game : when the plot was over, there was nothing to do in the town. Only drive with me and myself through beautifull landscapes in great cars... is funny... One hour... Then there was nothing to do. I think this was probably the thing that made Mafia "only" a great game.

It could have been a mythic hit ! It was mythic in some aspects or others but never completly. I mean, it was the best graphism in its time, with the best physic engine and a great mood and story... But the plot was linear and lacked a lot of optional things to do.

We all saw screenshots of the game now. It's more beautifull than GTA 4 ! So, even if there's technical things to polish or fix, the technics is here... Please add optional content so the player can enjoy the game even if he have finished the plot ! I played Vice City more than 200 hours this way and I'd rather have optionals things to do and secundary missions than a multiplayer part (err... I can hear fanboys screaming...).

Polish it ! Take your time ! Work your way toward legend !

Waiting 5 years is a long time for a Mafia fan, especially when you make a breath-taking first part, I think it's only natural for people to be totally impatient, I know I am :P

Dude... firt of all we can't rush it, you think the devs will release it earlier just because we want to? They are aware of the fact that we do, but believe me they're taking their time. Furthermore the game is being worked on for more than 5 years now, that's not a short period.

I don`t think they will rush it at all, but the release date issue is somewhat important especially for the ones that have to upgrade their computers, buy consoles etc couse we need to plan financially.

I think its not the right time to discuss these things i dont see that much time
left and i hope that the story, plot and all the other major components would be
almost final by now so taking more time to eliminate any bugs or to include any
important stuff that is missing is the only thing that makes sense at this time ...

There are probably about 6 to 9 months left for mafia 2 to be released. I doubt the game is fully developed and the guys at TK2 are just troubleshooting the game at the time being.

I am pretty sure that Mafia 2 is gonna proof itself worthy of being called an sequal of "MAFIA"*

    Which was like the ****** *** *** *** *** **** **** ******* best game EVER, except Peggle Extreme

6-9 months sounds about right, were probably looking at like a March/April release.

Same here...altough I will update my video card soon, I hope the game has an option were you can select what pixel shader version you want to use (2 or 3 or maybe 4) so that all public can play the game. I see alot of games that require ps3 and hundreds of people complain that they can't play the game because they have ps2 (like me).

Hmmm, I want exactly the opposite! I want to know first the release date, because knowing that will calm me down a little and then because I want to change my VGA card and motherboard, but I want to do it with just 2-3 weeks max before the game "aires" because the prices for PC components will go down for sure and I don't want change my VGA card now, paying 300$ and "not use it" when I can buy it 6 months later with 200$ for playing Mafia II!

I found this hilarious. Its back on one of the last pages of the forum from two years ago, a bit more, and it's about people saying to let the devs take their time for a perfect game. A bit ironic dont you think

How can I take my time when the game is so short.
    You tell me.

8 years, and a crap game. Next time take 16 years, atleast that will improve your games abit
