    Lightbulb Boardgame Idea

    Hi everyone!
From the time i have finished the computer game i cant stop thinking of how nice i would be to play a boardgame base on the motifs of this terrific story. I decided this forum is an appropriate place for sharing such idea. I would like to cooperate with You in creating a fun, noncomercial game which could be played by everyone who could print it for himself. Please correct me if maybe such a game already exists or is in plans, also i'm not sure if i am allowed to do something like this But i hope that 2K wouldn't mind this conception which btw may bring more interest to their product. Maybe 2K itself will become so much interested in this idea to publish it?

If your opinions are positive i promise i will post some particular details and plans i had made. For now i can only tell you that i thought about something similar to Arkham Horror (in gameplay mechanics) but less complicated in rules

Thats a great idea. In fact an official Bioshock Monopoly would be AMAZING!
But as for a one that could be printed out I will have to think about it for a bit.

i second the Bioshock Monopoly idea! Artemis Suites, Olympus Heights...perfect

yeah some sort of boardgame would be great to have. Give it the whole Bioshock look with art deco and the like. I think it would be a great seller if it were to be published by 2K even if not published it would still be good to have one

yeah good idea and for the pieces instead of the car, dog etc you could have a Big Daddy, Little Sister, splicers.. lol im loving this idea, think it could work really well

instead of community chest, gatherer's garden/gene back?

edit: and the stations could be Rapture Metro's

what are these "bored games" I remember hearing my grandpa talk about something to do with "dice" or maybe it was "rice". Is this what people did before the 1980s?

Oh but if you really want go Make your own

Of course you could never carry more than $500 so I hope Real Estate is cheap.

Though there really would be enough places to buy even if you stretched it a bit. Lets try to list as many as possible: The Crematorium, Funeral Home, Dentist, Stienmans Practice, Fisheries, Market, Bee Place-Ill leave some for others.

As for pieces you could have a Big Daddy, a Bunny Mask, Little Sister Syringe, Audio Diary, etc.

Another idea the get out of jail free card would be the security bot shut down

    This could seriously work!

I would love to help if you are thinking about a board game that is kind of like a role-playing experience...rather than a traditional Milton Bradley style game. I have made many original boardgames for my students(not boring stuff, wargames, etc.). Let me know if I can pitch in!

I see that conception is making progress. The Monopoly idea has monopolized this topic. I admit it would be very funny but let us go a little further, starting with how would this look like.

The game would take place before Jack has arrived. We could have a rectangular path with a start location called "Welcome to Rapture" as was the first level in the game. Following Monopoly, players crossing this square would receive some cash. They would wander through such locations as Arkadia Gardens, Olympus Heights and buy them. Then they could also hire some Splicers (instead of building houses and hotels) to guard this area and make other players to play higher tribute After placing 4 Splicers a player could place the Big Daddy. Some squares could be Bathyspheres allowing to move to one another by a price. We could also have Event cards such as Chances or Bad Lucks which would describe actions taken by famous game characters influencing players.

But if so, why wont we create a free-to-move, map with many connections on the board? The players can play a game characters like Cohen or Langford and every of them can have its own mission goal - collecting 10 doses of Adam, 1000 dollars or killing another players. Let them also place traps, send Splicers on each other, hack security systems and do all the things Jack done in computer game. It would be great to play a role in the time just before the Fall of Rapture, don't you think? I wait for your opinions.

I really appreciate your proposal Gareson
