I have student orientation tomorrow and I'm nervous about it and it doesn't help that my dad is coming up with inane questions about it I can't answer. I need to find something to help get rid of this stress.

@Bubbles~ Thats a hard trick to master! You need focus, concentration and a not being afraid of chewing up and eating a straw whole!

@Asherah I hate that feeling of awkwardness. Its hard to shake off. Thats like on the first day when the professor calls you out in front of the class you feel like disappearing. Just think about it, there are probably other people who are just as shaken or worse than you. I mean what are they going to do? "HA HA YOU CAME HERE TO LEARN! DORK!" Not to sound like a corny early morning cartoon but stand strong and be confident in yourself. Also don't think about tripping. You'll end up shuffling like a zombie .

Today was such a beutifully rainy day. Cooled off compared to yesterday when it was like 95 +100% humidity x_x. Can't wait for tomorrow though! New Green Lantern comics oh yes!!!

Ouch how do you handle humidity like that?
Its times like this when I wish I had a pool it has been around 100 degrees the last few days but at least its dry. My back feels like its on fire but thats what I get for not using sun screen. Nothing exciting today, just about to rent Watchmen on-demand.

Hmm... the definition of "friend" must've changed in the last few years. But then again, who am I to judge? Maybe your friend is one of those people who act like idiots on the daily basis but when you're in a tough situation they'll help anytime/anywhere and do the best that they can.

I have a shot at the biggest turning point in my life, and I don't know if I'll even succeed. I applied for Correctional Officer and I have my big test on Tueday morning. I am HOPING I pass my test. I need all the luck in the world.

It's normal to be nervous, but i'm telling you don't be nervous about orientation. Basically you need to show up to the room they tell you, when there, either a professor or one of your counselors will show up,hand everybody some papers and show you guys a powerpoint presentation.Pretty much all they are going to talk about is how different college is from high school and how you need to take responsibility because you are considered an adult. They will also explain how their catalog works and much much more.

Anyways nobody ever talks to each other at these things, everyone is always too timid to talk.

^ Thanks for the advice guys. Orientation wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It actually was pretty fun except for traveling back and forth across the campus a couple of times in the heat. Also they gave away alot of free stuff.

Well we just started a new chapter today and we are working with conic sections, but its so timestaking,i much prefer working with logarithms or factorials, but thats just me.Also i'm a little depressed because i really wanted to go to comic-con to get a signed BS2 drawing and to check out meltzer's apartment, but they sold out of badges months before liz's announcement so i guess that means i'm not going....Hopefully liz will post pictures and stuff so those of us who can't go can still keep up.

Sounds really cool, all you'll need is a gatherer's garden and some glow-in-the-dark astrological symbols on your wall and you'll be all set.

besides my math class my day was pretty good,i finished my math pretty fast and i went and got Coraline on Blu-ray today.I also watched the total solar eclipse on youtube,it was absolutely beautiful, too bad the next one isn't 'til 2125.

And maybe some fake ferns, fake fireflies, fake streams, fake wheelbarrow (huh), fake wine bottles, fake potting soil, fake shovels, fake rocks, fake waterfalls, fake tree in a fake greenhouse, fake benches, fake posters, fake roses, fake cheese, real beehive... did I miss anything else?. Seriously, if someone actually makes a real Arcadia... they need to charge people so they can walk in it. Because it's going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity!

I've only heard of Coraline... What'd you think of it?
I think it was directed by Tim Burton right? I'm looking forward to his other movie, called "9". It's also 100% computer generated.

I have too much real ivy. The only good thing about them is that when I'm climbing up the hill I can use them has makeshift ropes so that I don't roll down.
If I remember correctly, the ivy in Langford's office seem to also have pink flowers growing out of them. But the others ivy in the park do not have flowers.

Hey if someone made a real arcadia with real plants and such i would definitely pay to tour "Arcadia",it truely would be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

It's actually a very good movie, the story is great and the attention to detail is stunning. It is directed by Henry Selick, but the movie is not computer generated...The movie is completely done in stop-motion,they use actual hand-made dolls and move them frame-by-frame to create the whole movie."9" on the other hand is completely computer generated. 9 actually looks like it's going to be a good movie, can't wait.

If you are interested in coraline i suggest you rent it,but maybe research it first.

So I just bought my drums and they are awesome! Except for one little thing... The Hi-Hat I got with it is a piece of junk. It sounds horrible. So I'm probably going to have to buy a new one. The amp i got with the drums is worth 1000 and something dollars (the people selling it didn't know that ;P) and I got a bunch of other stuff with it (Wireless headphones, 2 old pads that used to be on the set, a metronome thing, extra cords, etc etc.) so that's what I spent 600 dollars on today. I watched Watchmen today. Great movie! Umm.... Now I'm off to go eat something because I am STARVING!

Well today i went downtown to get my comics and found my self completely surrounded by Bioshock references!

It started when i got on the train: http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...O/Image069.jpg Reminded me of the Medical Pavilion for obvious reasons.

When i got to the comicshop they had these bags for Tim Burton's 9 movie which looked suspiciously like the BS: http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...O/Image070.jpg

Finally i passed by an electronic store that had this flickering on the screen which was kind of creepy to start with which reminded me of the Accu-Vox Audio Diaries : http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...O/Image068.jpg

All and all it was a very good day .

That's a really odd coincidence... but not unwelcome either.
I had a dream before where I was on this submarine (kinda like the Nautilus in 20k Leagues Under the Sea) and we were dodging all this debris getting thrown down by a volcano. That's probably the closest BioShock experience I had in my life... unless you consider fishing and boating at the ocean part of it.

I wonder where I pulled out "Tim Burton" from? o.O
Wow, stop-motion for the entire movie? And in that quality? That's a lot of hard work.
I'll check it out. But first I'm going to have to learn how to use the local Blockbuster store. I've always bought my movies, so this is going to be new for me.

9 looks amazing. And Tim Burton has a thing for stop-motion films. That's how he did The Nightmare Before Christmas.

For some reason, I haven't had any want to be around this forum like I used to.
It's not that anything wrong happened, that my old forum buddies up and left, or that I suddenly grew up and away from this place, it just feels like... I don't know, something has changed around here. I make attempts to have fun and look through all the threads like I used to, post here and there and have some good laughs in the proccess, but now--I can't put my finger on it. The inspiration to speculate has left me, it seems. It's changed.

So I don't know if this means anything drastic such as: "So long folks!" or if I'm just complaining about something I can't explain without warrant.
Anybody else know what I'm talking about?

I can't really say i understand, but i have noticed some of my favorite people like circus of values, japester, electric flesh, etc have been gone for a while and its not quite the same without them.I think it's just because there isn't much new stuff to spur interest and excitement....It does kind of suck though, when i signed up there was a lot going on here,so many topics and people and ever since Bioshock has been pushed back and summer has set in,this place feels somewhat different...almost as if the traffic has slowed down.

I still like this place though,it's much more mature and laid back from other forums i visit and is by far my favorite. At the moment the Something in the sea website is keeping me and many others busy.

I think it's mostly because it's summer time and everyone is on vacation and hanging out with their friends. I'm sure Jape is also on vacation or something like that. I've changed quite a bit since I joined the forums. When I joined I tried to make all these stupid little jokes (Which I still sometimes do) and I just never really discussed anything too important. The bottom line is I'm sure that the forums will be back to normal in September.

My day was great! My friend came over and we spent 3 and a half hours making a song with just keyboard and drums. It's turned out great so far but we're trying to find a way to make it longer

I feel kinda like that. I didn't even come here the last two days. I came back and there were 50 new pages in the SitS Discussion thread. There's just not much happening here other than Something in the Sea.

I completely understand, I'm finding myself doing the same thing. There's not that much going on at the moment and what little there is being discussed to death. Hopefully it'll get better later on when there's more to talk about and the others return.

I'm so glad orientation is over. It was sooo long. -__- Now I realize I only have 3 weeks till school starts but hey I don't have to be there till around 11 o' clock in the morning.

Yeah...the forums are dying...kinda. The only new things being discussed are somewhat boring and very confusing (SitS) due to there being a lot of other people talking about it and bringing up way too many ideas for you to focus on just one. I prefer to just read what people have to say but say nothing unless I think it's kind of worth bringing up.
More immersive, fun stuff might come up when the games finally come out. But right now it kinda feels like finishing your 23rd playthrough on BioShock and now you're all bored and sluggish.

My day has been... not too bad, I suppose. We ate brunch with the grandparents on my father's side of the family. I am convinced they cook the best biscuits and sausage gravy in the 'verse.

Tried to spend most of the two-hour drive home reading Atlas Shrugged, but there's only so much of it I can take in one sitting (especially before my reading glasses get uncomfortable.)

Aaaaaand here I am. Practiced piano, checked my usual sites, not much else to do right now. (Not that I'd have the energy to do anything anyway. I can't believe it's only 3:30 in the afternoon...)

Anybody else know what I'm talking about?
I know the feeling. I've been more active in a SC2 forum lately, but that's because a beta for it looms ever closer. Plus, a lot of big members have been gone lately, like Jape, EF, and I, but that's due to vacation. In fact, today is my last day on vacation, then it's a 3-4 day drive back home, and I'll be able to post to my heart's content.

    And JudgeofWings, you're awesome too

To all my friends at the 2K Forums, I bid thee farewell. I'm going to Italy tonight, and, well...I'm staying for a month up in the mountains. But don't fret! I'll send pics whenever I have a chance.

    Goodbye!
