Today? Same as the rest. Trying not to think about how much more of this there is, and the fact that only dumb luck can decide if the next school year will be any improvement over this doesn't make things any better.

What do I want to do as a job? Work with computers, which is both the only thing I can even begin to do that may be valuable and exactly what I've done all summer so far. So, I'm one step ahead of you. I guess I could brush up on my writing skills, but the only ideas I have are kind of dark and someone in this house will doubtless ask to read it one day. Not sure how that would end.

If you're looking for something to do I would say Warhammer's a good thing to get into. The game itself is secondary it's more about meeting a bunch of like minded people. It has to be said though it is quite expensive and it's a bit of a gamble. I was quite lucky in that all the guys at my local store where alright. However some stores are not so lucky.
I got Flames of War, 120 dollars for 60 small soviet soldiers? No thanks.

    LOL. Check XCOM.

If you are checking sections for games that came out a year or more ago....then yeah, you're probably not going to see as much activity.

I've been around, but it's been over four years (!!!) since I posted in this particular thread. Holy Schnikes! Funny there should be a mention of Warhammer, as I was doing research about that in the last 24 hours. I'm familiar with the game, but my inability to paint tiny figures, plus my lack of desire to lug it all to the local gaming stores has always kept me out. However, I still like to look at what others have created. So the gf and I popped into a game store over the weekend that we'd never noticed before. Long story short, I discovered Battleship Galaxies, and I'm fighting a losing battle that will surely result in my buying it. Heh. I don't need to get into yet another gaming system, but I'm a sucker for spaceships. And it seems easy enough to pick up and play.

It's been a rough 24 hours, though, as I'm contemplating putting one of the sweetest cats in the world down due to a health issue. It's not a matter of him suffering (I can be clinical when it comes to that), it's more a matter of him ruining every square foot of carpeting in the house, plus every piece of furniture we own, plus a bunch of my collectibles and books....

I usually don't post in those sections of the forums, my posts are mainly in Off-Topic, Video Games & Tech, and BioShock sometimes.

If you're looking for something else to do, do what I do. Figure out what job you want to do and get some practice. For instance I want to be a rapper (I know is never gonna happen) or an architect so I'm writing lyrics and designing buildings.
Warhammer 40K is so great. It's a life long hobby. I too miss the old days, but I think we've all grown up since (Not necessarily in a bad way) then and simply gotten too busy to be here like we used to be :/

I've grown older but the amount of time I have to kill here stays constant, and that amount is a lot. I drop in a lot more than I post, mainly because all of the newest posts in all of the threads I care about are my own a large portion of the time. Been a while since we've seen you, by the way.

Most of it was me building my house, and the rest was murdering everything in sight in my world's giant cave system. There was a 20-minute sequence where I frantically charged into the Nether time and time again in an uphill battle to get my stuff back after an army of Pigmen killed me, which resulted in me shouting profanity at my monitor and scaring the dog.

I'm pretty proud of my house, though. It's nothing too special, but it's the best thing I've made so far.

I have one of my 4 maths exams today which I'm going to fail, in fact maths and English are the two subjects dragging me down and they both have the most exams.

As for warhammer, it's been a while since a played mainly because the prices have almost double since I started and it's just too expensive for me. But when I did it was a great way to pass time, a lot of the time I didn't bother playing I just passed the time with the other guys there talking about random ☺☺☺☺.

On the Minecraft front I have three worlds going:

The first is the old fashioned survival. I have a half decent house, I'm building a fort, I found some Diamonds and have three mine shaft going. The only annoying thing is I keep getting lost underground and losing all my stuff. Plus the poison spiders kill me in like one hit.

My second world is on creative, I'm building a massive underground civilisation with it's own religion. So far I have several houses finished, the council chambers, the jail, the library and the temple. The inside of the temple is like the nether, and it leads to a portal, on the other side is a long obsidian walkway which eventually leads to my floating obsidian fortress.

My third is a super flat world creative where I'm building a city with skyscrapers.

    All day today = Minecraft.
I've been busy as hell lately. After the spring semester I ran out and got two jobs, one at a call center and one at a Hot Topic. Between work and my girlfriend I don't even have time to play video games, let alone come on here :/

It'll happen to us all, eventually.

American, or the one the rest of the world plays?

EDIT: Battlefield 3 is so ☺☺☺☺ing broken it can't even update. The vast majority of the problems I'm having are direct results of the game depending on Battlelog as its server browser.

Normal football, I'm watching the European cup. Other than that I don't understand which team I'm meant to support so I just support England.

England play football? It's a roller coaster of emotions

Between euphoria when you think they will win every game then depression when you realise they really are a bit ****, none of that would happen if they hadn't won the world cup 6 bijillion years ago

Was hoping to have a good day and get my car back after being away for 2 weeks, phoned me this morning to say they couldn't find the locking wheel nut key, then I realised they hadn't even taken the effing wheels off yet

It's the only type of football I watch, it's a bit of a laugh and you can support you're country, I honestly know like nothing about football.

I've decided that I've been playing Skyrim too much so I'm going back to some other games. I've started a new profile
Winter_Warrior_ and am going to try and get as many trophies as possible so here are the games I'n going to pplay in the order I'm going to play them

    Mirrors Edge*
    Infamous (Evil)
    Infamous 2 (Evil)
    Assassin's Creed
    Assassin's Creed II
    Assassin's Creed Brotherhood*
    Assassin's Creed Revelations*
    Just Cause 2
    Bioshock*
    Bioshock 2
    Infamous (Good)
    Infamous 2 (Good)
    Skyrim

*These I won't be going for Platinum on because it's impossible (A man chooses)

I've got all but about three Achievements on Bioshock 1, and quite a few more on BS2 due to all that playlist crap from way back when. BS1 would be the first game for me to ever successfully dominate, but all of the Achievements are on the Xbox, and now that I've got both games on PC...

I dunno, I'm not. Then again, I'm a loong way from Europe. Hell, I don't even watch American football.

Today, I looked up all of Spy's lines on YouTube. Couldn't stop laughing.

I just started a superflat world in Minecraft, to build a city. I already have the indoor gladiator arena done, the town hall/court, and some of the shops in the merchant district. I like it so far.

Which three achievements don't you have? The ones I know I can't get are Avid Inventor, Tonic collector (maybe) I Choose The Impossible and Brass Balls

Oh yea I finished Mirrors edge in one day.

I know I've got Brass Balls (actually got it playing on Hard--didn't know difficulty didn't matter). According to Xbox Live, I'm missing Avid Inventor, Tonic Collector, and Historian.

I'll upload some later, I've found a couple of good angles of my house. Earlier I found a creeper in my garden, which scared the hell out of me. Luckily it wandered off.

Long but fun week. Sorry I haven't been around more, between work and school, and that sabatacle last week, I've barely gotten a chance to look at a computer. So last Thursday, my buddies and I went out into the wilderness to stay in a cabin. for the most part it was just fishing, hiking, and B-movie marathons. To get back into town (if you can call that a town) it was an hour on a fourwheeler back to the car, and then another half hour to get into the town itself. Isolated doesn't even begin to describe it.

All in all, it was a lot of fun, but one of them decided to bring along a bunch of Middle-of-the-Woods/Camp-Killer-Lake-Monster/Cabin-Fever films (freaking Jerkass) After our first little marathon, we decided to just stay up for the rest of the night. (sleep is for the weak ) By Saturday we'd all had about four hours of sleep since we'd gotten there, and we decided to go hiking. It should have taken us an hour to get to the lake to go fishing, took us all morning.

I got back home yesterday around nine at night, and just collapsed. Thankfully, I only had a four hour shift at work today, so I've caught up a bit (slept in until about two in the afternoon, bad dreams like crazy) but right now I'm about ready to turn in again. No work tomorrow, so I think I'll just sleep through it. See you Thursday.

I've somehow got Battlefield 3 working. It's enjoyable, I like the game, but it has so many damn quirks and bugs that it could drive you crazy. "Pro" tip: NEVER play Operation Metro with 64 players, especially if explosives are allowed.

EDIT: Pictures of my Minecraft home.

It happens to every Minecraft world eventually... you'll find yourself 22 diamonds, make one false step, and die in lava. Fortunately I was able to clamber out of the stuff and die in a nice, safe corner, so I can still find my stuff... but I was SO FAR from home!

Hey, I thought that about one of my tests and I ended up getting a 90. Don't worry about it, and remember that if you fail the world won't stop turning.

Okay, who do you think is going to win the... soccer/football thing in Europe? I've got a bet on Germany, Ireland, Sweden and Spain. I can do about six more. I NEED TO KNOW SOON.

Well Ireland are the first team definitely going home and Sweden are the second after we beat them 3-2 last night. There are only 16 teams so 10 covers most of them but if I put them in order of who I think will win from the knock out stages:
    Spain
    Germany
    Portugal
    England
    France
    Croatia
    Russia
    Czech Republic

I put them in order best to worst.

Has anyone else heard of the fight between Chris Brown and Drake. Wonder if it will turn into another East Coast, West Coast type beef.

I found a cheap Gateway laptop to replace the gf's ailing, ancient HP. Since she doesn't game, specs aren't terribly important, but I am intrigued by what a sub $400 laptop can do these days. Going from a 7150M to an Intel HD 3000 is a nice little bump. Can't wait to see what BioShock and a handful of other titles look like, considering her current setup really can't handle them. New gadgets almost always put a smile on my face.

(But the fact that a new Windows 7 Home Premium O/S can't play store-bought DVD's is criminal. Way to take out extremely basic functionality, MS!)

    Wait, what? *Searches for DVD*

EDIT: I don't see the problem. Could you elaborate?

For an update, the Czech Republic and Greece are through and Russia and Poland are out.
