Problem That I Had:
The full release freezes whenever I attempt to try and enter Rapture (the descent from the tower in the scuba machine thingy just after the plane crash) as soon as the board slides into view to play the film. So basically I can only play about 2 minutes of the actual game.

Fixture:
All I did was, because I had Direct x10 for my computer, to make it run smoothly, go to the shortcut of Bioshock on your desktop, Right click it and go to "Properties". Then in the "Shortcut" tab, type -dx9 (with a space between the actual code and the -dx9) at the very end of the "Target" text box. Make sure this is typed outside the quotation marks.
eg "...[shortcut code is here]..." -dx9

If you dont have a shortcut on your desktop, go to My Computer, Program Files, 2K Games, Bioshock, and in one of the folders (most likely the first one) find the button for opening Bioshock through those folders and rightclick it and click "make shortcut" and a shortcut will come up on your desktop and follow the instructions above.

Hope this helps some people. I have only just started playing the game myself after fixing it so I don't know about any other problems to come but I am just happy to get past the first hurdle. Good luck.
