Wow that is great news thanks for the link,
correct me if i'm wrong, but wont SOME details (and hopefully gameplay or a trailer!) be revealed when it is "showcased" at gdc, march 23-27? (showcased in quotes cuz i dont know what they're even showing at gdc)
edit: i could be entirely wrong, i dont know anything about this "gdc," but they are showing something right?! there was talk about how the updates to somethinginthesea.com would finish around the time of gdc...

My theory about where this game is going is that the splicers in Rapture have been festering for 7 years after the conflict. The people of rapture were already greatly messed up a year after the conflict, which is where the first game comes into place, and the rate of insanity and degeneration of the people most likely continued until it eventually left Rapture. There could be a problem with the lack of little sisters in the city (reproducing could be a problem with splicers, maybe they went sterile), and the lack of adam has driven them into extreme madness and desperation. With all the corruption and destruction in rapture, plus the near-superhuman army of splicers festering in the bowels of rapture, it must find a way to come out.

...BIG SISTER?![]()
Hey, if you could keep that in the other thread JLA, I'd appreciate it!
Has it really been two years already?
Seems like yesterday to me!
Q3 of 2009. I CAN"T WAIT!!! Hope to be as good as the first one.
I am so excited about Bioshock 2. I absolutely loved the first one, and can't wait for the release of 2.
I would love to see traces of Jack in BioShock 2, like you go throught area Jack "conquered" and you see old corpses of Big Daddies, or a player would have to get throught Fort Frolic and there would be the masterpiece. I would love it but i doubt 2k Marin will go that far.
well i think splicers would have scavanged whats left of the big daddies but to see cohens masterpiece would be cool or go to langfords lab and see it torn up and ryans office thatd be sweet
I would like to see ghost areas that do not get spoilt by splicers trying to kill you.
And time travel to the past and future and sections in the past and future.
And ghost or time areas that can be revisited as many times as you want.
The ghost areas in the event a thuggish started screaming and hitting you on the head while you were looking. Or if you just wanted to see it again.
And more variety in the models and the npcs to look like their pictures.
It does not bother me that much in Bioshock the npcs not looking like their pictures as much sometimes but it would be good to do.
And the ability to see your pictures after taking them.
And a inventory would be a good idea. Not a very complex one but a deep one.
Time travel? Really?
As in, the character traveling back and forth in time, or flashbacks or something like that?
Because time travel would seem completely shoe-horned into this. I don't think it fits.
I think Flashbacks could be nice. Maybe some flashbacks to the glory days of Rapture, when you, the first big daddy was still human.
Anyways, I think one should not judge the game at this point when we know so little about it. If I think back to Bioshock 1 - the Story was full of surprises I would have never thought of before the game was released.
I mean areas were you can go to the past and future.
Like a area with a BD that went berserk and trashed it and a big fight ensued. The present would be trashed, the past with fine, the future the sea would be coming in. All playable.
And ghost areas that do not get disrupted and can be seen however many times you want.
It already has time travel in a way. The ghost areas and Jasmine Jolene's room that won't open till the scene plays where Ryan kills her.

Hmm wonder if The Big Daddy you play as and the Big Sister are related in some way, family, genetic or child hood friends.
Hey everyone,
we decided to close this thread after a long time. Originally it was one of the first threads, collecting all input about Bioshock 2.
Since we now have a fully fledged Bioshock 2 forum, there is plenty of room for discussions! This thread here included interesting comments, questions and answers, but we think this may get lost in one big thread like this, having quickly changing topics.
Feel free to give your input in other threads.
