    Question Crashes within minutes

This is my first post so please bear with me. I just bought Bioshock and made sure all my pc equipment/software/drivers were good enough to run it. It started crashing back to the desktop right after you first pick up Atlas and go to higher ground. The longest it has lasted is when Atlas is telling me to pick up a wrench or something. I spent 2 hours with technical support trying to figure out what was going on and tried everything they suggested but it just keeps crashing back to the desktop. The tech just couldn't figure out what was wrong. Thes best way I can describe it is that just when the game crashes the game make a loud stuttering sound. No error message comes up it just goes back to the desk top. Any ideas would be very welcome

That's weird. I also just bought the game after purchasing a brand new PC. The game installed just fine and I have not had any problems with it. Hope you can sort your problems out quickly mate.

jkot: Your driver date for the X1950 says its from January, try to go to: Ati Catalyst Driver download page and get the latest, 8.4.

    Updated ATI

    Headkase,

Updated the catalyst center and driver, no luck, still crashes straight to desktop when you get to the pipe wrench. Don't have problems with any other game/program installed. Re-formatted the HDD around the beginning of the year and do regular de-frags to keep the system regular.
