    Ps2 gone degenerate?

...ok so I finally turned my ps2 on again after a month of not playing it. but once I put a disc in it wont read. also, the machine seems to be lacking sound and a little vibration. It doesnt even spin the disc ( I got slim ps2 ). is anybody facing the same problem? what can I do to fix it?
    is it finally dead?
I'd appreciate advice. thanks in advance.

Maybe it's hurt because you play xbox 360 now.
Jk. The same thing happened to my bfs sisters slim ps2 not too long ago. I'm not sure what it was, but it was easily fixed. Sorry can't be much help.

Listen to her. She knows what she's talking about. Electronics really do get their feelings hurt and kill themselves when you move up the ladder to a better device. This has happened to me everytime I upgrade.
When I got a PS2 my PS1 killed itself. I have had two different computers mysteriously die when I buy a better one, including one that just died two weeks ago.
Try hiding your XBox from sight and telling the PS2 that it was just a bad practical joke and that you would never leave it for an XBox.

Sorry that I can't offer any "real" advice. You could probably take it somewhere and get it fixed, but would it be worth it? Maybe not.

It's true. I bought a nice new red Gameboy advance sp when they first came out. That thing lasted me forever and I took such great care of it because they were expensive at that time. I bought a new Nintendo DS and when I tried playing with my sp, it simply gave out. I didn't break it or drop it or anything. And it didn't sit for too long. I wanted to use both. But it wouldn't work. The screen was all f**ked up. Seriously, it sounds REALLY stupid, but you'd be surprised. Same goes for cars. Be nice to your car or IT WILL break down on you. Haha. My car ALWAYS broke down. My sister said talk to it and be nice to it. Trust me it works. I felt foolish, but I did it and it hasn't broken down since. There's tons of crap wrong with it too and I just fixed something, but it's still going.
But I really hope your ps2 gets fixed.

First, how was it fixed and next, thanks for you sympathy guys. I truly believe now that video games indeed have feelings and a soul ( from gamers who died long ago ).

I think it had a problem with the little thing that holds the disc. It was weird because you'd put it in, and it'd spin it, but then stop and you could hear the disc continue to Spin and stop. So it was just making it worse. I think they bought or took a little part from an old ps3, same kind and replaced it.
